Printers (and motherboards)

Anyone have any recommendations on good, cheap (desktop) printers? I'll really only be using it for printing off essays and the such, with the occassional picture / photo. Note that I am in the UK.

I've considered these two:

HP DeskJet 3420C Colour InkJet Printer
Canon BubbleJet i320 InkJet Printer

I've found these for £49 and £56 respectively. Any opinions?


Also, what are the opnions on these two motherboards:

Elite K7S5A Socket-A Motherboard K7S5A
Gigabyte GA-7ZXE Socket-A Motherboard

I realise they aren't exactly brand new, but are they good? Or are there any other (cheapish?) motherboards you could recommend?

In the past HP was my fav.

since PeterM brought my attention to the Canon S520 & S750, I've been converted.

Here in the states, the S520 can be had at the Gateway store for sub $100 shipped.

One reason I like the Canon's so well is the very cheap ink refills, Staples brand ink costs like $30 for all 4 carts.

The other biggie is print life, reportedly the Canon has a 25 yr light fastness when used on Canon Pro paper.

Motherboards, I suggest the Biostar's, they have reasonable o/c ability and are very stable,, and inexpensive.
