Dead CPU- need help

After a thermal grease mishap, my Athlon 1900+ died this morning. She has the lovely reddish black burn marks in one corner of the core.

Although this experience has kinda soiled me on Athlon CPUs (I'm really starting to dislike the amount of heat they put out), this is an ABIT board and it'll only take an Athlon chip.

Anybody know where I can get the best price on an Athlon 1800 or above? Please don't say pricewatch...I'm looking for places you guys have used.

Any help would be appreciated

Have you tried www.newegg.com?

Also, Pentium 4 of equivelent speed (P4 Mhz - Athlon XP#) put out more heat, They just have a heat spreader that Athlons lack.

Newegg is beat in price by googlegear, which is also a good merchant.
