Does Costco suck, or am I just too critical.

I dislike having to pay a "membership" fee, it's not too bad for a local b&m store like Sam's Club as their fee is $25 at times.

Costco wants $45
anyway, here's a good deal on the CAnon S750

Actually Costco (up here) is pretty good, got some great deals last Xmas and the Xmas before, but we usually have 1 family member that gets a membership, and we just go with her (to the Brick and mortar) good prices on a lot of things.

Unfortunately-you have to add another @$20 for shipping and tax-not available (in Vacaville ca anyway) in store-$80 still a good deal but not as good as $60

yeah, if you don't buy enough to really max out (justify) the benefits of a membership, it helps to 'piggyback' onto someone who does.

IMO $45.00 is to much for membership.
You really have to see some really good discounts and from what I have seen ther not that great.
Sam's is not bad, I had was a member for years but again the deals there are not what they used to be.

If you go there regularly you will make out. Of course everything there is not less expensive than anywhere else. You have to be up on things. They also have a great return policy- just return it no problem, your membership shows that you bought it, even if you can't find the receipt.

$45 is just too much, they suck, you're not being critical, Doc they don't offer that many discounts that are worthwhile to me IMO

It really depends on the person Doc. My father has a COSTCO nearby him in Va, and he absolutely loves the store. See if they have a trial or one-day pass so you can get an idea of what products you'd regularly buy from them. The big deals don't happen all that often, though they are good when you get them.

As jdbic said if you go there regularly you will definitely benefit from it. Oh, and my pops LOVES their bakery, esp. the pies. THough I'd never buy from them, as it would be a mortal sin for a chef to buy baked goods

**edit**
It looks in hindsight that you aren't near a B&M store eh? THen I say it's prolly not a great idea...

Costco is good for food. I have a second frig and store my meats and stuff there.

Besides food and cigs (i don't smoke but my folks do) and a few other stuff here and there (cloths, tools) they are ok

I rather like Costco, inspite of the yearly fee which is a bit high.

BTW: For those living near the CDN border, just pop across and renew your membership in Canada - you pay $45 in CDN dollars instead of US. Almost a 50% savings!
