Flat screens are NOT really flat. where it counts--on the actual CRT screen.
What they do is add more glass that is concave-to screen and planar toward viewer; this creates the physical flatness on your side.
It also creates the unusally heavy weight you'll find on a lot of them , including Samsung.
I suppose it would also act as a concave lens, altering the view" toward the center." "Naturally flat" (NF), are often AG screens which are often--well, flatter.
Some "flat" screens seem to have their act together better. I like the Nec-Mitsubishi.
Moral is :look at one "live" (if you can) before you buy.
