Keep checking the Trader's Forum as people throw their old 24x, 32x, and 40x CDRW drives up for sale/trade as they upgrade. Some sellers(shahani comes to mind) buy the CDRW, do the MIR, and sell it to you pretty cheaply. I've bought several here and it's the best way to go IMHO. That black Lite-On 48x @ Newegg is down to $59.99 shipped by the way. I've used several different brands like Lite-On, Sony, Norcent, Pacific Digital, Cendyne, and TDK. Many are just re-badged Lite-Ons and all have worked well for me. I personally would reccomend going with a burner that packages NERO burning software though as I've had more luck with it than anything packaged with EZ-CD creator.
