Need a cheap CDRW drive

My Yamaha 20x CDRW crapped out after only about a year and 2 months (warrenty=1 year). I meant to spend a little more for quality with that drive, and that was for nothing, so I want a really good deal on a burner that's a decent brand and it probably needs to have burning software because I'm pretty sure the Nero version that came with the drive is Yamaha-locked. Anything better than 24x speed.

It must be CAV.
It must be cheap.

Anyone seen any deals like this?

I was looking at this one (free shipping):
http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduc...on=lite+on+40x

This one (no free shipping, the middle one):
http://direct.mwave.com/mwave/ProdCD...LE-LITEON.hmx?

maybe not.

the nero that came with my yamaha 24x works fine on an old hp 8x (sony drive) as well as an older 7200e. even qualifies as an upgrade to the latest nero.

the nero packaged with the lite-on's *is* locked.

If you want, you can get the 3212S lite-on and o/c to a 40x with Mt. Rainer support. Works perfectly and a lot of people I know have done it. I say this because the 32x would be a few less $$.

EDIT: The 32x model doesn't support PCAV out of the box, but when you make it a 40x, it does.

here is a link to another thread that explains exactly how I overclocked mine. The 32x W model can be overclokced to 48x I think, maybe even 52x,. The forum I gave you explains it all.

I haven't heard too many complaints about lite-on...I like that company more and more every day....cheap, high-quality drives. You can get one almost anywhere...I like your newegg.com link the best personally.
