Cash or debit only??? That is enough to scare me, try their 24 helpline to see if there actually is someone at the other end that knows something.

Aldi's is a discount warehouse-style grocery store, that also runs specials on some limited types of hardline merchandise. Their cash registers and card swipers only accept debit cards, and they do not accept checks.
Try a Google search on Medion.

I've seen that ad. Looks like all name brand components. Pretty impressive ; however, buying a PC thru a grocery store chain somehow just doesn't sit well with me. . .

Medion PC's at Aldi's supermarket
I noticed something about these PC's while adding a floppy drive and 512 pc2100 DDRam to a friends Medion p4 2.66:
The user complained of lag at times, not seeming to run as fast as he felt it should. That is what prompted the addition of 512 ram.
the cabling setup seems odd to me. IDE=0 has the DVDRom drive as master, and the 120 gig HdD as slave, and the IDE=1 has the CDRW as master and no slave device.
Also, the 120 gig drive is partitioned 3 times! Main windows drive c: is 55 gig, D: partition labelled "backup" is also 55 gig. There is a 3rd partitioned labelled "restore" of 5 gig. It has the WinXP system restore files automatically stored there.
I was under the assumption that mixing UDMA133 IDE with ATAPI-type or CDRom drives would force the harddrive to function at the slower transfer rate of the slower device. I can imagine the drive lag when a disk is inserted into the DVD primary master!
The temptation to correct this setup was overwhelming. I would swap the DVDRom with the CDRom in the drive bays, then make the DVD secondary master, and the CDRW the secondary slave, leaving the UDMA133 HdD as Primary master.
Note:
The components in the Medion box are all name brand parts. These PC's are a hell of a deal at $699 US!!!
:-)
