Has anyone has any trouble with Gateways 400s Laptop? Also how relieable are they?

i don't know anyone that uses a gateway lappie.

ibm, yes. dell, yes. sony, toshiba, sager, mac...all yes. gateway, no.

I use a variety of gateway laptops at school and think that they are all pretty much poorly designed pieces of crap.

I bought the Gateway 400sp last month and its working great. I'm doing video editing with it and using PhotoShop 7, Premire 6.0, Pinncale studio 7, and also I loaded IronStorm game which graphics play without a skip and with high setting in the game. Also four other friends at work went and bought the same laptop because they saw what I can do with this laptop and they are very happy. I upgraded the memory to 256mb and its working great why pay 1,500 I paid 949.00 they have them on sale for 999.00. worh the price I have owned Compaq's in the past but for the price Gateway is the best deal in proformance and price.

Also forgot to mention that it has a built in Mini PCI slot on the Gateway 400sp which I bought the Mini PCI network card from Dell and works great and I don't have to use a Wireless PC Card because its built in know in the laptop.

If you do they are on sale which makes them 999.00 and I believe free shipping, or if you have a gateway by, you can pick it up at there store. I don't know to much of the customer service because I haven't had any reason to call. I checked to see how they rated and they rated average on customer service.

Yea, I was gonna wait till after Christmas to see if the prices will go down... So i should buy one? How is there overall Performance?
