Kids Your Worst Experience?

I think everyone has a horror story of some kind especially when dealing with online companies, heck that's why many of us are here!

I was basically wondering what was your worst experience with a certain online company, and is that company still doing business?

The only horror or mix up story I have would be colorcases.com though for me it was a very grey area, if you look at their ratings you will see for most it was much worse than mine.

Thanks, feel free to tell!

i tend to stick with well-known reputable dealers if i'm buying over the internet, so my experiences have been very good.

my only problems (and they've been thankfully few) have been with ebay transactions where i purchased stuff and the seller either took an unreasonably long time (almost 3 months w/one guy) or they messed up and omitted stuff from the shipment.

Same here PJ. My experiences on Ebay ( 2 of them ) revolved around mislabeling the auction. My motherboard was supposed to have RAID and my video card was supposed to be 6.1.

Needless to say, I got an Abit KR7A non RAID mobo and a 5.1 Hercules Game Theater XP sound card. Fortunately, both fit my bill fine. I won't ever buy 6.1 speakers, and really have no use for RAID. The guy that sold me the mobo threw me an extra shipment of a Thermaltake Volcano 6Cu+ for the screw up. The sound card I just wrote off, I'm just happy I finally got one.

Two stories. I lost about $600 to online auction fraud to a company that went out of business about two weeks after I "won". Turned out they had two other business names and were already operating under Chapter 11.

My second experience is ongoing. One word, rebates! I think rebates are basically a scam whereby companies and stores get to overcharge you and in the majority of cases keep their excessive profits. Yes, I almost always get my rebates, but too many people lose too much money.

My worst experience may be this samsung samtron 76v monitor that I got from OfficeDepot....I bought it to resell with a system...hooked it up, brand new from box and it has bad "Moire" problems that I cant seem to adjust out. Im sure that I will have to pay the shipping to get the "warranty" so that is kind of a ripoff in my mind.

I would say ebay also. My son really wanted some erector set stuff for christmas one year. So I bought several items off of ebay. One item I paid $40 for was about 3 pieces of erector and a handful of nuts and bolts that I could have bought at the hardware store for $5. Had a dispute with another seller on shipping, he said free shipping then whined about not making a profit on a dutch auction. He threatened to leave bad feedback etc. He wanted to call the deal off and I finally let him just to be done with him. But it was a pain. All my dealings with businesses so far have been ok.
