Fuji Finepix 1300 worth it?

I can purchase one of these in great condition for $80 from a friend of mine.

My question is, is it a good camera? I'm not a photographer by any means (I think I've taken about 20 pictures in my 20 years) and do not need good quality. Just something to make a digital image when I feel like I want one.

Is this money best spent elsewhere, or should I go for it?

Well, I would say to ask him to lower the price more since it is second hand. Looks like you can buy one brand new for a bit more. Although the max resolution and MP seems rather low, I think it would be good for general usage...

You may wish to spend a bit more and get double the megapixels and a warranty.

This Fuji A200 is a pretty hot item.. I've gotten in 2 of the A201's @ 2.1 mp and the clarity is very good.

Printing out super quality 5x7's is NO problem.
You need to practice to capture 8x10's of great quality.

I have a Finepix 1300 and it's a decent camera for a beginner, but I'd spend a little bit more and get a 2-MP camera. Once you really get going, you'll be glad you got something a little better. The great thing about digital is you can just about take all the pictures you want to, it only costs money to print. So I'll take ten pictures with the digital for every one I used to take with my SLR.
