Kids Which CD Burner?

I like to replace my old and slow HP CD Burner. I have not been completely happy with it.
The" Plextor" Burner seem to be good. Also for the software I'm debating between "Easy CD Creator 5" and Nero.
Do you have any experience (good or bad) with the "Plextor" and or the software?
Do you have any other suggestions?
I will appreciate your thoughts.
Also, I have ordered an "NEC" LCD Monitor from "ABS Computers".
The company has been great ( I filled out an evaluation form) and I love the monitor.

I have a plextor and love it
Works great, and the burn proof rocks

You'll find most people prefer Nero over the EZ coaster creator.

I like the Plextor and Lite-on burners and the only way to go is with Nero

I have purchased around 20 burners for my company in the last 3 months and went with all Lite-on burners and they were all bundled with Nero.

Can beat the price, performace and software bundle.

Personally I think Plextor are overpriced for what you get.

why go with the plextor when the lite-on is easily half the price AND has equal or better performance!

plextor used to be an innovator in the cd burner market...no longer. now they basically sell a rebadged sanyo drive.

get the lite-on. you will be happy you did.

I've owned both Plextor and LiteOn burners...both perform very well (with Nero of course! ), but I would go with LiteOn every time!

Lite On 48x24x48 CDRW Model LTR-48246S Retail is only $59 shipped from NewEgg!

Plextor's 48x is $113...why go Plextor?

Just my .02

Lite-On, and Nero all the way. Had mine over a year, and only one coaster, and it was my fault
I have burned prolly 300 Cds, not a problem

Plextors have about the best name in a sense...but I dont see the point of paying that much unless $$$ is no object.

I use a lite-on 24x and Nero. Haven't burned a coaster yet.

If you wanna get a good deal on a lite-on..hang around in Docs Deals forum for a week or two...usually there is one to be had for around $30 from officemax or staples.

I think they have the deals so often we all silently agreed they weren't worth posting lol.

Talk Lite-on and Nero

Thanks for your answers. I'm so glad that I asked!
Lite-on and Nero it will be!
Where can I find "Docs Deals"?
I have gotten great advice from this site about NewEgg and ABS Computers.
Thanks again, Ann

go to top of page where it says 'forums"...click on it...scroll about 3/4 down the page...you'll see it "docs online deals and steals"

Go there and post saying "I need a good deal on a cd burner"

Prolly get a good deal on a 32x or 48x
