Justdeals cheaters! Mobo shoppers Beware!
I just reviewed these people. Received your "K7V-T". After inspecting mobo I found a sticker with a model number. ASUS NEVER uses stickers. Underneath it had original asus model which is "K7V" So watch out people.

I've ordered two Chaintech boards from them. and everything
was as advertised. Aside from shipping being a little steep, I got
exactly what I ordered. At $25 ea. for two budget builds including
on-board VGA and sound,(Intel 815e chipset), they were a steal.

Are you SURE that this wasn't an Asus sticker? How do you know? What is the difference between these two boards? Does the board you received have the features that come with the K7V-T that the regular K7V doesn't have? Companies frequently use old boxes and slap stickers on them when they make minor changes to a product-they don't want to throw out the old boxes.

Correct, they often use the same PCB as the old model so they dont have to run a new production line or alter the existing one, and just put stickers on the old PCB. This is expecially common if the the difference is the chipset and they are pin compatable with the old version (i.e. Via KT266 + KT266A + KT333).
My Abit KT7A-RAID has a sticker on it, over KT7-RAID, but the chipset is indeed the one thats supposed to be on it. They used the same circuit board for both runs.

ASUS NEVER uses stickers for their mobos. I checked with Asus. Boards look exactly the same, but T model uses additional PCB layer to accomodate faster Atholons such as 900Mhz. There is some kind of issue with KX133 chipset and faster atholons. Thus K7V-T and not K7V. It is almost impossible to distinguish. For example same as with A7V266-E and A7V266-E/AA. But Asus always marks model number on PCB. Point is that its wrong to cheat like that. Less technical person would not know the difference. In my book I would not do business with these scum. I don't care if they sold 1000 good parts, when you purchase online you place a great trust in merchant. If they lie once, I would never put trust in them again.

Im missing something here....what exactly is the accusation?
You are saying you recieved a K7v instead of a K7v-t?
Do you think that justdeals manufactures stickers to put on motherboards?
If the board has stickers on it, I dont see where the reseller is to blame, I mean, I doubt they have time to go thru a thousand motherboards to put little stickers on them. Did you ask them about it?

On a side note, the Abit KG7 Raid, 2 dollars less, is a MUCH better deal...way faster.

Abit KG7 Raid is no go
Abit KG7 Raid is for socket A, K7V is for slot A, but thanks. I did the reserch before I chose the board to specifically accomodate Atholon 900mhz slot A proccesor.
They did plaster those damn stickers over real model number. They even flashed KV7 bios with KV-T bios. When I booted I saw the latest bios, which surprised me. I was expecting to see much earlier version. I work with a lot of Asus boards, so I know little bit about them.

Ok, I'm convinced. Kinda cheap to do this type of crap just to make a few extra bucks. |
