Dartek.com: Are their reseller ratings legit? Their prices are a bit high....

Is spam via PM allowed around here?

WHOAH! Ok, getting spam via PM had me check...hmmm,

2.48 lifetime ratings, with a 9.9 6month rating...can you say "self inflating"?

EDIT: maybe a bit harsh...but VERY suspicious

Re: May I assist you with your next purchase?

I saw that you had a bad experience like many others and I am wanting to make sure that you never have to have a bad experience like that again. And I'm sorry if I offended you in anyway whatsoever in trying to be helpful.

You will soon see these private messages in the forums, where you can help EVERYONE. If helping everyone is your ultimate goal, you missed the finer detail that I am one person, the forum has 32000+ members. Does the offer stand as a public offer, or am I unique? One last chance: What is your point?

Hello there. I know how frustrating it is purchasing something off the web and not getting what you want. In the past I have lost over $5000.00 in computers. I want to show people that not all people are like those other companies. My point is that I want to help people.

And here is my reply to Tadams:
Quote:
Please understand that in the internet world today, unscrupulous 'forward acting merchants' are leaving a bad taste in the consumers mouth. Use of email addresses harvested from public places is not performed under honest mutually acceptable terms: just because it is published somewhere, does not mean that permission to use it for commercial purposes is a permission which is implicitly granted. People with emails expect the email account to remain unfilled by unsolicited advertisements.

Similar rules apply here in forums. Clearly your goal is to build darteks customer base. But I have never invited commentary on dartek. In return for the unrelated use of my Private Message account in this unsolicited fashion, I seek to understand the mechanics of how you feel you can evade the solicitation of business in this forum against the rules:
Referring to the acceptable use policies stated here

quote:

However, in certain situations, outlined below, All Enthusiast will remove postings by third parties (“posters” or “users”), including:
...
(11) The posting contains a solitication or advertisement.

You have tried to be discreet, and likewise have I been discrete. The post in the forum begins to ask the question about darteks ratings under the post is titled 'Tadams PMs'.

Bye, and do not PM me again.

I know I wouldn't give them a single dime of my money.

I think this is a rather shady method, and shady is as shady does, my momma always said. Not very bright, are they?

No, spam of any form via TechIMO or Resellerratings from any user is not allowed under forum policies. I have forwarded this post to Scott Wainner for problem resolution.

I already PMd a mod after I posted it all here, but a second effort makes me feel like I did the right thing. I do feel bad for the salesperson who wanted to help, but the rules are rules for a reason.

I think Robert has handled this. Let me know if there's anymore problems.
