Visa or Mastercard

You could always check with a credit union or something about a loan.. the one I go to had computer loans with pretty good %s. That way you could get what you want instead of being limited to payment options

One of the best deals I know of is from Staples.

No Interest, No Payments, for 6 months if you qualify for their personal credit card.

The best deal is a BTO (Build To Order) HP's!

www.dell.com

www.staples.com has some killer deals on HP lappys

Watch the annual percentage rates though, I'd balk at anything over 12%

If you get into a phone converstion, ask for a lower rate, and for "simple" interest instead of compounded.

Note on Sharder8's option:

If you do it this and do not pay it off completely in the 6 months, then you get all that 6 month's worth of interest tacked back on. It is only interest free if you pay it off in 6 months. That's how most "x amount of time w/ no interest" things work, and why so many companies use this tactic. Most don't know the interest appears at the end and the companies know most will not pay it off before the time is up... Be careful...

Richards right about those interest rates. I calculated getting a P4 system last week from Dell.ca and over 4 years of payments the cost of the system was over 2 times the amount I would of paid cash for the Dell system. I think their interest rate was around 28%.

For a P4 system I was looking at that, the cost was about $2600 cash. I would have paid around $115.00 a month for 4 years for a total of $5250.00. That is not an option for me.

Sure. And you get a free beating, too.
