Distributor Names and Contact List?

hi,
can someone give me some names of distributors for PC Fans, Heat Sinks, and accessories like 4pin to 3 pin adaptors.
I am going to start a reselling business and i need contacts.

For the brands of equiptment, i am looking at

Coolermaster

best bet is to contact the company and find out who their resellers are. Then you'll find that those folks also sell other brands. (i assume, at least that's how it worked with car stereo equipment).

Get a sales tax number, should be cheap and easy to do, depending on state i suppose. Many resellers will want that to prove you are legit.

Some follks won't sell to you, some will. If you have a buisness address, it's easier.

yes, i am getting the Federal Tax ID number,reseller's permit, and registering my business in my state this week, so i am set on that.

I have checked out the credit applications for companies and they ask for "trade references" what do they mean?

trade references are used as a type of credit report to say. You would give them the name of other companies you currently do open buisness with as a sorce for them to verify your ligit and not a scam artist to say. It also helps if you have good trade references as to the line of credit they will let you carry. This would allow you to send a P.O. to them for the items you are ordering and send payment within the time alotted by them. The trade references act as a credit rating so to speak.

You may want to get a signature loan from a bank or credit union (if you don't belong to a credit union, PLEASE do yourself a favor and open even a modest savings account in one asap. Trust me on this.), or even a business line of credit, if you've already established a good personal credit rating.

Some distributors will let you pay up front for goods until you start getting references but this will make your startup overhead really high. Most distributors will also want to see your business banking info. also if you do not have at least 3 refs. Also another thing you will find is that most distributors will have a set min. $$ of purchase per month most are at $1k per month for the big ones. The thing with trade refs. is they can find more info. to your business practices than they would ever be able to get from a credit report. Basicly they are to protect them from being short changed.
