There are some truths that the Enrons and others of the world must learn the hard way instead of just reading and believing the truth...or as was stated earlier...someone always thinks he is a little smarter than millions who have lived and learned the hard way.

I imagine there were plenty of get-rich quick schemes back in Bible days, not to mention hucksters, thieves,con-men etc....it's funny, but the more things change the more they stay the same.
Truth may go out of style it seems, but its still the truth.

Way to go, JMH. This has all been interesting reading.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned the extra gravy these "folk"
will get from selling their customer list to anyone that will pay. . .
But what do I know. . .I mistakenly put chili powder on my oatmeal this morning! Age is a terrible thing!
Actually, my son had been in the cupboard, had re-arranged
some stuff, and put the chili powder where the cinnamon should
have been ; both have the exact same color label and lettering
color, so I guess anyone could have made that mistake(?)
What was the question, again??

to get all technical about it, most of these things you found are LEGAL, using some simple loopholes. instead of doing a pyramid scheme, they use a matrix scheme which substitutes money with a product for next to nothing. now selling a matrix scheme is illegal by itself, but the way that most of these ebayers and websites get around that is by selling a "membership" or an e-book and "entering you into the matrix scheme for free." doing a free matrix scheme is 100% legal. so as long as they say that you are buying some product or service, and that they are entering you into the matrix for free, it is LEGAL.
-just some useful legal loopholes for you...
ps, i know all of this because i am an 18 year old kid who is highly interested in law (but not majoring in law, its just a hobby). so i talked to my law friends, read some law books, and figured out just how this is legal for them. so if you are going to start a matrix scheme, give it away free with an ebook entitled "How I just took your money."
