It took two months for 13 people to get a laptop. If you are 1300th person on the list, how many months does it take for you $29 to turn into a laptop?

(1300/13)*2=200 months ~ 10 years

I know that it took my cyrix 166 MHz desktop 5 years (60 months) to turn from $1300 to $20. I bought it in 1997 and now it costs $20.

The same logic might apply here too. People at the bottom of the list today must wait for N (a very large number) years before they get their laptop. One would be lucky if they get the latest laptop. If not they'd end up with a 1.7G laptop after 10 years. Think about the guys at 10,000th position !!!

Even if they promise to give the very latest laptop after 10 years, who would believe that they'll exist after 10 years?

Just my $0.02

Pyramid clubs/ Ponzi schemes work because everybody thinks he's smarter than most people. Can't be true, you know.

csa1234 doesn't seem to understand the basic premise (and fatal flaw) of a pyramid scheme. The people at the top of the heap get their "prizes" only as long as their are enough suckers at the bottom to feed the scheme with money. But as soon as they run out of bottom feeders, the funds start to dry up, the scheme falls apart and several thousand people are left with nothing but an expensive lesson.

It's a similar principle to the ponzi scheme (which still works around here thanks to a surplus of greedy fools).

You could always speed the cycle up simply by joining 76 more times.

76x53= $4028 smackers.

Then again you could just buy a new laptop for $2000 (or half that.

You should get a new card, I wouldn't trust scam people with my valid CC.
