Kids Need some advice about problem with Edge Micro

I have dealt with this company for 2 years and until recently didn't have too many problems with them (they were slow which hasn't conserned me for what I used them for). Anyway I have 3 orders placed with them and have not recieved all of the products I ordered. I am missing 3 motherboard 78.20 a piece a stick of DDR ram 45$, geforce video card 89$... anyway I can't get a hold of them at all. I have noticed now that their website is not up but forwarded currently to slashdot. One of the people that I order stuff for has already filed a dispute with her visa card company, however the other to orders were ordered with a check card. I basically need some advice on what couse of action I should take and any information anyone has on this place. I am sure I am not the only one in this boat. I notice someone on here had posted a bunch of info about laptop brain or whatever. I am just looking for info and advice here if anyone has any.

Thanks

Hmmm. Thier website currently just consists of this statement:

"Dear valued customers,
All of us at Edge Micro would like to thank you for the opportunity to serve you for the past 5 years. Unfortunately, because of issues that have come to surface within the past few months, we are no longer conducting business. Again, thank you for your business.

Sincerely,
Edge Micro"

Guess they are out of business then. These people look like slime (they have a six month rating of 0.26 (!) and a lifetime rating of 1.42). Moral of the story is threefold:

1. Never purchase computer parts on-line with anything but an actual credit card.
2. Also check the Reseller Rating of the company before you use them.
3. Just shop at Newegg and save your sanity.

Sorry, I don't think there's anything anybody can do, other than to try to get the bank to reverse the charges (or attempt to sue them, I guess).

Class Action Suit

Is anyone out there in the process or filing suit on these slim buckets? I don't care if you are going out of business it sure as hell can't be legal to continue to take orders and money and not ship the products and then just turn around and say or sorry we are out of business. I have already filed a complaint with the IFCC you can also file one at http://www.ifccfbi.gov

To anyone defauded by these jerks file a complaint if enough people file may they will actually look into it. I also plan to talk to some lawyers the company I work for. I would also like to know the local numbers for law-enforcement in Eugene and Springfield Oregon.

From the comments posted at Reseller Ratings, this company has done all sorts of unethical/illegal things in the past. If the company has actually filed for bankruptcy, then, legally, there is nothing you can do (other than get in line as a creditor)-however I suspect that this actually has not occurred. You might check with the courts in that area and see if they have in fact filed for bankruptcy.

It's a real shame, this sort of business practice, but it happens all the time. In fact, there are companies that get rich running businesses that are going out of business. The government even allows bankrupt companies to continue to do business with little or no oversight, even as the list of defrauded customers grows.

Find out what court this case is being handled in and make sure your on the list of those owed money. Unfortunately, unless you're a secured creditor, it's likely you'll receive nothing.

Get ahold of the Federal Bankruptcy Court in the reseller's area. They can tell you if a bankruptcy petition has been filed. Bankruptcy courts are usually located in the Federal Building for the area in question.

Hope that helps,
