Staples Maxtor Cendyne rebate snafu? Or Me? Help! DAWG, Richard Cranium,, et al

1. Maxtor Rebate submitted to Staples last month, Staples specific not the mfr.

RebatesHQ site says I didn't submit receipt for purchase. Bought on web, shipped in box with other items. Sent the copy of red shipping manifest with all necessary information. Store Manager said, "that's your receipt." Copy of bar code not mentioned, serial number not mentioned.

Phone number I can call?
Was store manager wrong?

2. Cendyne 321240 cdrw staples specific

rebateshq sez failed to provide serial number. must check but i thought only proof of purc. receipt requested?

Uh..I'll still welcome responses here. If I find what I need I'll post back to kill thread assuming moderator doesn't preemptively do so.

I had same problem. They sent a postcard saying to provide a serial # which I sent but so far no check.

Rummaging through my study looking for the copy of the rebate printout on that Cendyne CDRW.

Did you give them the serial in writing or xerox the external plate of the drive itself? How long has it been?

I think Dawg posted a Staples phone number awhile back to deal with double submissions of UPC codes. I will see if I can find it.

The packing slip has always worked for me if thats what your asking...
And btw, ur not lost without the s/n... all u have to do is take a picture of the s/n on the CD-RW drive or cut it out on the box (if u still have it) and fax it to them... I did the same and it went through....

"Red Shipping manifest" ?

What is that, I buy from Staples all the time and I get the same thing each time. A White copy and a Yellow one, both marked "Not an Invoice" which means, do not pay this bill from this paper. This is NOT a bill in other words.

If you sent that one in, they should not withhold the rebate.

Staples is the best, usually on rebates.

Did you keep copies ?

Get on the phone with Staples immediately and tell them about the mix up on the receipt. Re mail it if they say to, and include the person who you spoke with, date and time of day, mention gender and other data to confirm you did speak with this person.
