maybe consumerreports.com ? you have to subscribe ($$$) for any good reviews, but you at least know they're good

Best thing to do is to go to one of those chain stores (Best Buy, Circuit City, Costco/BJs) and see what you like in your price range. You can then go on their sites or to Amazon.com or epinions.com to see the reviews. Good luck

vass0922,
I don't know if you've really used Consumer Reports or not but as a former magazine subcriber (5+ yrs.) and an on-line subscriber for one year I have come to the conclusion that the models change and become obsolete before their testing info is even collected much less published. In short, it's a waste of $$.
brainchild,
Crutchfield definetly has some top-notch equipement but aren't their prices a bit on the high side? I think Imanage has the best approach to the situation. You need to figure your price range and then start compairing features and repair history/warranties on the various manufactures of the models you like in that range. And don't rule out Wal-Mart and similar stores either unless you're going for a huge screen.

I've noticed that also about CR Toad. But I'm usually going after an older model so it's ok . Also, they usually don't test very many models. Still a great read.
The prob with some reviews is that some chains get the makers to use different model numbers for products they sell, altough the TV may be the same as another model. May have something to do with price matching (so they don't have to ).

You know what is funny about Consumer Reports? I subscribe to thier magazine, and in a recent article about home networking, I saw some...um...questionable things (they had the cost of setting up a home network to be really high, for one thing). So, I went to e-mail a nastygram to them...THEY DON'T HAVE AN E-MAIL ADDRESS!!!! (At least not one you can access without paying for thier website-now please note that I am paying for thier magazine already.) They said they would get too much mail if they did. How primitive is that. They are right on the money for things like cars, but for computers, thier head is way up thier buttocks.
