What would you charge?
What kind of price tag would you put on this.
HP MidTower Case.
PIII 800mhz
128 PC133 Ram
WD 15gb Hdd
Fujistu 6gb Hdd
Pionere DVD Rom
Samsung Floppy Drive
GeForce 2 Mx400 64mb V-card
Net. Card
56k modem
HP External USB 4x4x10 CD-W
And that's setting up this computer with a fresh install of window, setting up the internet, etc., and backing up all important files on her old computer.

I wouldn't go less than $500. Just the parts and software new would cost right around that, and you'll probably want to figure in at least a little for your time.

Yeah, if you were just selling the system, I'd say $300 or so, but if you are setting it up for her and providing tech support, then what you are charging is quite fair.
Besides, free BBQ...drool...

I think that's about the right price - very fair. Plus I'd trade tech
support for BBQ anyday!
I'm from New Orleans originally, and they have a high incidence
of stroke and heart disease. Considering that Rib House, and that
great looking chicken-fried steak advertised in the Visa commercial
at that well-known place in Austin, you guys can't be far behind!
Why does just about everything that tastes great, wind up being so bad for you? Then, at the other end of the spectrum is tofu and rice cakes. Cardboard, anyone? (It ain't fair!)

Probably none of that stuff would be bad for you if you got enough exercise. Inuit ate, before snowmobiles, about 9000 calories a day, mostly fat and red meat, little or no veggies, and had low rates of heart disease. But they burned it all off.
I was visiting a friend this weekend; he drove me by one of the new McMansions in his neighborhood, with a hundred-and-fifty foot driveway. He told me the mother uses her SUV to drive the kids from the garage to the road to wait for the school bus; I'm betting their little arteries will be blocked solid before they're thirty.
