Having problems with a vid card rebate.

Sorry if this is on the wrong board, but here goes:

I ordered a GeForce3 ti200 from compuplus.com (total price: $118.95) but it had a $40 mail in rebate (valid from Sep. 1st to Sep. 30th).

I ordered the card on Sep. 3rd, and got it on the 5th. On the 6th, I went to the rebate page of their site to get my coupon to mail it in. The only form they had was an outdated one from August, but the page said that the September rebate would be availible on September 19th.

So on September 20th, I went back and downlaoded the .pdf file, and read through it, and got this:

"Mailing envelopes must be postmarked within 14 days of the purchase date."

But it wasn't availible for download within 14 days of the start of the promotion.

I called the 1-800 number on the form, and got an automated help thing, that was of no help. I called Compuplus.com and they're all on vacation until the 30th.

Did I just get screwed out of $40, and did anyone else buy that card from that site between September 1st, and 6th besides me?

Any help you could give would be apreciated.

I've ordered from Compuplus a few times in the past(over a year
ago). I had one problem, but they were professional and rectified
it to my satisfaction.

Have you tried to e-mail their Customer Service? Was it a mfr
rebate or Compuplus rebate? I think they'll make good on it.
You just have to dig a little and be persistent.

Well, I called them, and they where finally back from vacation. The customer service person told me that the postmark date wasn't important, just make sure the purchase date was within the time limit.

That doesn't sound 100% right to me, but I think I'll just send it in anyhow.
