Make them do it over the phone. Tell them that if someone can't help you right then and there that you will contact the Better Business Bureau and file a formal complaint. That probably won't scare them much...but thats about the best you can do.
Unless, and here's the best part. Did you buy it with a credit card? Its still not paid (as in its on last month's or the current month's statement and its not been payed for to the CC company? Then you can formally contact the CC company (Visa, MasterCard, whomever), and tell them this company is doing bad business practices and you would like to know what to do. They will most likely not make you pay that charge, investigate, and then either credit you back your money and not ever pay Components Direct, or they will credit the payment back to you and then go after Components Direct if they have already been paid through the CC company.
You should definately be agressive, act now, and don't hold back telling the Components Direct that you are going to authorize the BBB and the CC company to go after them if they do not personally authorize the refund within 24 hours. Make sure the CC company is notified of the situation before you call this place, that way your CC company knows to not pay them if Components Direct suddenly asks for payment.
And goodluck. I am having a tough time with Envision Monitors over a $60 rebate thats 2 months overdue now.
