NUTREND.COM BUYER BEWARE!!!
Heres a warning to any person considering buying parts from Nutrend.com. I recently spent $1400 in parts on their site only to receive a defective piece of memory. Regardless of the OS being installed, this system returns a myriad of corrupted file errors. After swapping all parts out except Motherboard and Memory I still had the errors. I stuck another piece of memory in the system, and poof, all problems gone. All speed ratings have been double checked.
Now after explaning the situation twice to Maribel, supervisor of customerCARE, Nutrend insisted on charging a 15% restocking fee for the DIMM. How much does it cost to restock a DIMM, I can't image this is a large investment in man hours. The DIMM restocking cost me $23.25, PLUS the shipping for a replacement. So in theory, nutrend.com could ship atleast one defective part in all shipments, and collect atleast 15% of the part as a profit. Morever, they could in fact send the SAME defective part over and over again, and make a significant profit. Nice business plan guys.
I would advice all parts purchasers to look past Nutrend.com, as they are out to make a buck, regardless of the customer satisfaction. This will eventually lead to a bad reputation, that will hopefully put them out of business.
Sincerely,
QualityControl

This seems a bit strange ?
you have warranty on the memory right?
they cant charge a fee for replacing something that was damaged when you bought it.

RESTOCK on DEFECTIVE GOODS, YEP!!!
Oh yes, no matter if they sent you a big pile of dung, instead of a processor, you still owe them 15% if you want a refund.

Is that legal ?
you mention that you want a refund maybe this is the reason for the 15% ?
"Money Back Guarantee
All items except otherwise mentioned, may be returned within 30 days from the original invoice date. CPU and memory must be returned within 7 days from the date of receipt. A return authorization number is required for all returns. 15% restocking fee will apply. Additional deduction will be made for CPU."
Have you told them that the ram was bad and that you want it to be replaced because of this ? ? I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT A REFUND!
it IS illegal for a company to sell a damaged/dead product
and not replace it, or well it is in sweden but it should be the same in the US.

Haven't ordered from Nutrend in almost three years. I ordered a
new PC after carefully researching and doing my homework. It was the best deal from a reputable dealer.
Just so happens that a day before my PC shipped I found a better
deal,(mostly the inclusion of MS Office 2000) thru Quantex. So I received both systems, the Quantex just in time to set it up and compare. Decided to call up Nutrend and get an RMA on the 29th day of the 30 money-back guarantee. No problems, no questions asked.
I lost my shipping, but my credit card was credited w/in two weeks as promised. No hassles whatsoever.
Quantex, on the other hand, went out of business.
No one credits shipping that I know of, but I would contest the
15% fee on a defective piece of hardware.
If necessary, send proper(be nice) e-mails to the proper people.
Or snail mail if necessary. Connecting thru the proper channels will assist you greatly in getting refunded.
I've learned, and now only order memory through Crucial or
Mushkin directly.

Here here. I will only buy through Mushkin directly unless the deal is too good to pass up.
