Kids Price Fixing amongst Heatsink manufactures ?

Does anyone believe that resellers are not responsible for the high prices of heatsinks from various manufactures ??

I have a webstore and sell cooling products... (I won't name the store) but anyway !

Believe it or not you guys the end consumer are paying way over the top for high end heatsinks...

I lowered my prices ALOT and sold alot of heatsinks (I was still making a good profit and thats what its all about).

So I go to place my next order with the manufacturer and they say no more heatsinks for me because my prices are too low !

I actually source out the heatsinks from a distributor who doesn't care what I sell them at and still sell them for a low price.

Today I get approached by a distributor for another heatsink company saying my prices are too low and I have to raise them !

I have no problem raising my prices as it means more profit but would rather have a faster turn over on stock than be sat looking at a bunch of heatsinks !

If anyone wants to know who the Manufactures are who FIX prices and tie resellers hands PM me !

Yea, there are tons of manufactures that do that . And, it's not considered price fixing as far as the law is concerned (which is illegal in my state). But yes, very annoying. Good luck trying to knock some sense into them.

I think this is against United States law. I remember that a while back that Nintendo got in big trouble by doing the same thing, preventing stores from selling thier consoles below the price they set. Point out to the companies that refuse to sell to you that they are violating the law, and that if they don't sell you the products, with the same terms as everybody else, you will report them to the authorities, and then do it if they refuse.

Edit: Found a link regarding the Nintendo case...

And another regarding price-fixing laws in general...

Yeah, that is rude to us to have them force you to raise your price and thus raise our cost, but then again, other resellers might not have as good a connection, and need to sell for higher prices. Yeah right. BTW, wanna buy a bridge? :-P But still, search about the internet for 'northeast dairy compact'... price fixing keeps the price high, thus everyone makes more money for their milk. http://www.dairycompact.org/#anchor 3
Same kind of thing, in my opinion.

How do you suppose Tommy Hilfiger, major cologne mfrs, and
other clothing mfrs like Nautica, et al, get away with it? I've grown too old to be impressed by a clothing line, but somehow they manage to keep their retailers from offering that stuff at a
regular discount. I wonder why this has never been challenged?

I only remember the pleasure I got, watching "Cops" on TV,
arrest a big fat white trash woman, cigarette dangling from her lips. . .wearing a "classy" Tommy Hilfiger T-shirt!!
There goes the neighborhood. . .

On a related note:
You only wonder how two of the biggest oil companies are allowed to merge, and not violate Anti-trust laws!?

Don't get me started!
