I always tell the "not sure of" online vendors (mediocre ratings) as well as completely new, yet-unrated vendors that I ALWAYS write a review -- good or bad -- after each online shopping experience...to put them on notice not to scam me and encourage a "win-win" situation for both of us.

If Scott's idea would do the same thing, then I'm for it, too...better than each of us doing it this way or that on our own with no uniformity or "standard" vendors can count on.

But each of us MUST write reviews to keep our credibility factor high: If vendors see that only a few few such "letterhead" people actually write reviews -- as seen in the general population -- it would take the teeth out of the idea and fail to realize the full potential in it.

Consequently, I propose that those receiving/using such a resellerrating.com e-mail agree always to write a review.

I usually e-mail somebody from where I purchase something and link to the rating I've given them.

I guess in a "cheap-minded" way, I'm hoping they'll give me a discount at some point.

Might be a problem with spam mail. But at least you can get where its coming from.

Ex. If some of us get spam we can cross reference to find where its coming from. Nail some of those people that sell lists without telling you!

Just an off the wall thought!. Kinda sounds like what BBB does now, just in a different way.

I expect much comment on the BBB thing. Don't get me wrong I use the BBB often and its good, but they (BBB) have no enforcement power. That's why i'm saying it would be much like the BBB. But hey nothing wrong with a little compatition
