best mp3 player for the money??? not cd style

I recently bought a rio250 from bestbuy. I thought it was a great deal $114.00 after rebate. But after going through 2 units and neither worked I got my m0ney back from bestbuy.
So now I want to get a mp3 player, compact mem style if those are decent units for the money that is.
please advise and with www if at all possible. thanks

come on people, some of you have bought mp3 players and know from youre purchases if the unit sucked or was great!
I wanna buy a unit thats half decent for my wifes birthday. Time is running out. Please give me some feedback

The iRiver ChromeX iMP-150 seems to have the most favorable reviews, in the $100 range.

I've read 3 or 4 hundred regarding MP/3 players in the last few months.

Rio gets a bad review in general, oddly one of the first Rio's were made by iRiver and got good reviews.

I went to target picked up a archos 10 gig mp3 player for $180.00 and then found a $30.00 rebate online. So that makes $150.00 after its all done. Not to bad a price for 10 gig mp3 player.
