I just ordered yet another piece-mail system, and ya know who shipped their order first? Jazz-Technology. Though that was a bit surprising [considering I never order from a company under 8.5, but it was a minor part that could be easily snagged locally]. I also see that Essential Computers has quite the reputation for excellence.
As for the BAD in NewEgg, I don't mind the lack of technical support, pre or post, but the fact that they "hand pick" their product reviews/comments worries me. I can understand wanting to limit the negative reviews of a product since so many folks attempt to get into this field with no real knowledge of what's involved. Just take a look around, and you'll read posts of people who already ordered their parts, and are trying to get answers to questions that should have been answered well before their purchase. But in attempting to remove this unwarranted negative posting, many professionals, such as myself, will not be heard, no matter how knowledgable their remarks may be. On an added remark, however, I think this has been brought to NewEgg's attention, as they seem to be attempting to let some of the more warranted problems remain for review.
And I consider myself a professional, even by the literal meaning of the word. Up until a year ago, I was mostly hobbiest, or ameteur [for a good 4+ years]. But now I repair, upgrade, and custom engineer microcomputer systems as a second job in what little spare time I have between my day job and night school.

Oh, expert was the word. Well, I can say I'm almost an expert so long as you don't expect an expert to be able to troubleshoot vague problem descriptions from afar. I can't remember the last time there was a problem with a PC I couldn't fix in good time [unless of course, the corruption was severe, and Windows required a fresh install, in which no such thing as "good time" exists

]. But I will admit, there's plenty more to learn. But as I get there, these trivial minor problems with PC's will no longer be of much interest, as a true expert will prefer the REAL toys. So what is your "more demanding" definition of an expert, mr?
And Monday I will get to play with those cute little flex boards...they're almost exactly what I was looking for in the PCMOD forum. They should make an excellent TV-top-multimedia system. Of course, the AGP-slot version will make it more complete, allowing TIVO like operations, but the prototype needs to be of budget.
