I have a DVS DVD-ROM that I've had for 3 years now. I like it because it is so old it doesn't have any of the regional restrictions the newer ones do. Funny thing, tho'. I got it as-is at comp-usa and pd $5.00 for it(was in a kit that included a pci decoder). I took it home and hooked it up and it worked!! I then sold it to someone on ebay a year later. THey sent it back to me and said it didn't work! Well I hooked it up and it worked for me. I tried it in several machines and during this process discovered that it will only function as a SLAVE drive. You set the jumper to master and nada. That must be what happened to the guy I tried to sell it to. It's noisy and slow- but hey $5.00!
