Can anyone suggest an online site that ships to Egypt?
My friend in Egypt is looking to buy a couple parts, and doesn't know how good a selection he can get from vendors in Egypt. Do you guys know of some good online sites that are trustworthy, have pretty good prices, and ship to Egypt?
He's looking to buy some RDRAM and a graphics card (Most likely a GF3Ti200 64MB)
Thanks

I don't think you're going to find any legit US company that will sell computer stuff to a Middle Eastern/Islamic country, especially now.
You best look for some dealer in Europe/UK.

Yes, I believe we have a bit of a technology embargo against your country.

There isn't an embargo against Egpyt; however, like EVERY country (except maybe Canada), it is neigh impossible to (legally) export anything with strong cryptography (like, say, common software (web browsers, operating systems)) from the US, and processors beyond a certain power are also prohibitted for export from the US. But these shouldn't be a problem with the hardware you state, if anybody is even paying attention on such a small, private shipment (unlikely-they are caring more about stuff coming in at this point, not going out). The only Islamic countries the US has embargo against are Libya, Iraq, Iran, and Syria, I think (well, Afgahanistan too, although that is of course less relavant now that there is thousands of US Military runing around there...). Shipping stuff to Egpyt would be legal, but I'm sure it'll cost a forture from shipping costs, customs fees, etc. Finding a US store willing and able to put up with all the hassle is unlikely, though. Probably buying the parts yourself, shipping them, and then having him pay you whatever the combined costs of the goods and the shipping/taxes/duties/customs/bribes/whatever to get it to him would be the best bet.

Actually, looks like Amazon.com has some pretty decent rates. The price is high, but me sending a package to him via Fedex or UPS looks to be about $60 minimum!

Amazon's prices and service are pretty good. If they have what he needs, and are willing to ship to Egypt, it sounds like a good idea to use them.

I'd research the exacts, but it's about time for me to leave town for my 4-day celebration...

| That was my suggestion, seems the logical choice
