Anybody else get suckered into buying from these people?
About a year ago, I got something in the mail offering a bunch of free books (+shipping of course) as long as I agree to buy 1 more book at regular cost.
Seemed easy enough....................seemed.
I cannot get rid of them......I bought what I thought was a regular priced book.......yet they say I still haven't fullfilled my obligation..........ok, fine.
But here is where I get #*&^*#%*$ off.
Yesterday, I came home and saw that I had received a box from them which contain their "special Selection" ( the ones they automatically send if you don't send in the card saying Not to send them) and a bill for $65.
I send these fricking cards back the day I get them clearly marking NOT to send the monthly selection. I also write on the card that " I do not want any books sent to me".
This already happened once before. I figured maybe a goof, so I shipped them back at my expense ( $7).....Now they did again yesterday....I do not feel like paying for shipping everyttime they feel like ignoring my request..........
I went to the site to see how I can fullfill my obligation. They say to look in a certain box on the card they send. Mine say "41602"
WTF does that mean?!?!?!?
******Update*******
Their new website, finally lets you do whatever you need to do.
i.e. check account status, customer service, etc....
I also sent an e-mail to them explaining how these books have been sent by mistake and I am not paying to ship them back.
They replied, by saying they are going to send a return label and will credit my account when they receive the books.
Also, on their
new website, there is an area to cancel membership and the exact status of my account. ( turns out I
had fulfilled my obligation awhile ago) Also I can respond to the cards online rather than hope my denial card gets through.
Thanks to a real website, and quick email response, I will continue membership
