Outdoors I HAVE AN IDIOT AS MY LOCAL UPS DRIVER - WHAT CAN I DO??

Forgive the caps for the header, but I am so pissed off. We have the SAME UPS delivery driver that goes around the neighborhood for the last 5 years, every day of the week. I see him all the time, and in all my dealings with this guy he is a JERK. He acts like he totally does not want to be there, and asks all sorts of invasive questions. Let me give you an example, one time I ordered some video games from Amazon.com. The package arrives, and he shakes it around. I ask him not to do that, and he says 'I have been trying to figure out what is in here all day, sounds like books, perhaps some videos' I look at him and say thankfully it is something that cannot be damaged by the shaking he was doing, but what if it was something fragile? 8(
NOW TODAY, this Bastar* delivers my new 22" Viewsonic monitor, and to my SHOCK AND HORROR, from the back of the truck, standing IN THE TRUCK, drops the package onto the small patch of grass that is in front of my house, just missing the concrete pavement. It made a VERY lound noise, and I shouted HEY! I told him it was a 800 dollar computer monitor he just dumped 8+ feet from the truck bed, and it was heavy so who knows how much force it hit the ground with ( it was 82lbs )
I said to him point blank 'Why did you do that??? It has to be broken' And he said to my shock 'I am not going to risk my back over a computer monitor' I looked at him and said 'Well it has to be broken, and quickly started to open it to see the damage, but it had those damn copper BIG stapes that you need a screwdriver to open with. I asked him if he could swing back in about 10-15 minutes ( Since I know he delivers in our area until past 6Pm, and it was 3Pm ) and he said He is not allowed to do that, and if the item is broken to call up one of the numbers on the slipping to file a complaint about damaged goods. I was outraged, and said 'You just damaged it by dropping it off the back of the friggin truck! '
At this point he got angry too, and said 'As per my training, I am to leave the area of a upset customer at once' got in his truck and drove off. I WAS P-I-S-S-E-D. And I still am.
So basically, now I have to call UPS, call the company I bought the monitor from, and go through all that CRAP because he took a job where he knows he would have to lift heavy things and is supposed to be trained for this stuff, and then drops a monitor from the truck bed. Umm, ok.
So this is what I want, I want this guys ASS, he acted like he was totally unconcered, and he even said he 'drops heavy items like this' all the time from the truck bed - even monitors. He could ever SEE it was a monitor, as Viewsonic ships them in a box where you can see the product, a monitor.
I want this guys ass, I want to get him fired, in trouble, ANYTHING, but I do not know how to go about it. ( how I wish I had a video tape, I would have posted a rip of it here, and sent one to UPS ) Can someone please help me? I know I have the major www.ups.com website, but this is one driver who acts like no matter what I do he will get away with it.

And surprise, surprise, the monitor was busted. The glass was not broken ( I thought it was from the *thud* I heard ) but I hooked it up and nothing happened at all. I know how to hook up a monitor and all , been doing it for years and know how things can go wrong. I am SO curious to open it to see what damage there is, but I don't want to get shocked or void any waranty I have.

Someone give me some idea on what to do? UPS is great - but the driver in my area SUCKS and needs to go - and soon.

- Michael W.

Remember next time don't sign for it until after it is off the truck and you opened it. If he says he won't wait refuse delivery.

Simply contact UPS and the shipper---driver needs a call out---
try and keep your cool---it may assist...
Its gonna be the same dude bringing the replacement unless you make other arrangements...
My UPS guy is a saint---droppin a pak of Heinekin on him every few months surely dont hurt---cheap insurance...as I see him daily...

Ok tomorrow i think it would be best to call the company I bought the monitor from and tell them the exact story, then call UPS and raise hell ( but in a nice way :P ) Also, my store should help me when they know what happend I am sure of it.

Grrr I am still pissed I should not have to go through this at all. 8(

I had a simular problem with my local Fed-ex guy. I recieved a Case once that looked like he had backed his truck over it. I emailed Newegg and explained the problem to them. I got a nice reply from Newegg Customer Relations promising to contact the shipper and offering to RMA the product and have not had any more Fed-ex problems.
