New Egg
Never again will I order from this company. 1st I ordered a Geforce Ti4600 and some memory. I sent the payment overnight by Fed-Ex and they received it the next morning at 9:00am. Checked back on the order status that evening and it showed no payment received. Called customer service and they told me that they hadn't received the payment. I gave them the Fed-Ex tracking number which also showed who signed for the overnight package. They finally found the person who received it and said the order would be shipped within 1 to 2 days in which I said fine. Checked the order status again the following day, still showed no payment received, called again, still got the same answer, had to go through the detail again and tell them they received the payment, they finally again said they had the payment and said it would be sent this evening or at the latest tomorrow morning, in which I said thats fine again. Checked back again on the order status,, guess what? No payment received again. Called them back, same thing again, this time talked with a supervisor and said it would be sent again. Checked back again and it showed the order had been voided, Still don't know what is going on, all I know is that they have $525 of mine and still no product.

Not sure I would bother doing business online without a credit card.

Agreed. Too many complications ordering online to a business with cash/money order. Newegg probably does 99% of it's business with credit cards. I assume you sent one of the two, because as far as I know, all banks offer a debit card with a checking account, and the debit card also tends to work as a credit/debit card. So sending a check would be pointless when you just could have used the debit card.
Frankly, I doubt that Newegg even does a bank run more then once a week. The payment is probably sitting on someone's desk in accounting, waiting for the weekly bank run to deposit it.
Perhaps this is a good sign that you should find a bank that offers a Visa/Mastercard Debit Card for your use. I'm betting that any money you saved from buying it at newegg instead of locally was spent sending the money overnight via Fedex.

I order from them regularly and have for a couple years---never had a prob (MasterCard)---I have it down, if I order from them early enough in the day I get it overnight usually free via Fed-X or Supersaver for only a few bucks---it costs you nothing to inquire about an order via 800, im sure your 525$ order means alot to them---if you mailed them a payment---personal/cashiers check or money order im sure a wait would be in order---
The only thing that pisses me off about them is no WILL CALL as im close to them PLUS at times I simply order elsewhere to offset the tax thats involved being in Ca...

True, but still it doesn't add up, even though they received the payment they haven't followed through with it, and then the order showing voided? And the items were in stock when they received the payment, now they are not. All because someone didn't follow through when I called and spoke with them.

Dude, give 'em a chance... I've ordered from them lots of times, and they've been so good to deal with that I'll buy from them before I'll buy from anyone else - including local retailers.

9.4 (out of 10.0) based on 1,153 reviews. Puts them at #57 - BUT nobody above them has over 560 reviews, and it seems the average is less than 100 reviews....
I've always had good luck with them as well. Points above with the CC/DC though should be considered... Only thing I've ever paid by money order is an out-of-state ticket! |
