Which is the best Wireless Router?

I'm in the process of purchasing a new Wireless router for my home network. I was considering Netgear since i have had so many pleasant experiences with their products, however I would like to know what evybody thinks or suggest.

4 computer running Windows XP Pro
2 Story home

A lot of people will suggest the Linksys line. I have the BEFSR41 which is the 4-port (non-wireless) router. I do have a problem where I get dropped when there's a large amount of data passed through consistently. For example, I'm playing UT and it disconnects me. The only way back is to try to load a webpage in IE and it finds the connection again.

I've heard of this problem (not just for UT) elsewhere... so if you're thinking Netgear, I'd do it too.

The Linksys router (BEFW11P1) I have does disconnect about once a month. This is the second router, the first one was replaced with same problem. I don't worry about it, just hit the reset button and everything is peachy.

As far as client cards go, the only way you are going to get 300 ft is to buy the Orinoco/Lucent line of cards. Dlink, Linksys, SMC, Compaq, etc. are all based on the same two cards that have limited distance. I couldn't even get my Dlink to work with encryption. The Orinoco Silver card I had worked very well though, all the way out my backyard to the lake. And they pretty cheap on the web if you look around.

Yeah I've had some issues with teh WAP11.. pretty shakey. Better after that last firmware upgrade (previous one was god awful lol)
Mine's not a router, but the wireless aspect would be fairly similar
Although I'm on 2nd floor and WAP is in the basement and I get <10ms pings fairly consistently.

I wouldn't touch a wireless Linksys unless it was free.... I do cable modem installs so I see diffrent networks here and there , I have been at 2 diffrent jobs that had wireless Linksys that were having trouble. One was a laptop that was only 5 ft away from the router for testing and it wouldn't connect..

I havn't had any problems with D-Links before but our network guy says that suck.

I have set u a few Belkin wireless routers and everyone worked with out any problems at all. They even offer a sub station incase your house is too big for the system to work properly. here is a link from office max http://www.officemax.com/max/solutio...kOID=536960406

for a cheap one, thats the one I'd buy
