I live in the USA, but what about British OEM's?

I've been reading some British computer magazines, and they all give a certain British company called Evesham (evesham.com) great reviews. I went to their site, and their prices are great. I was wondering if it is feasable to order from a British custom-build dealer and have it shipped to the USA. Has anyone tried this? Thanks.

technically yes it should be possible, except I believe they'd have to put in a different PSU or or at least a different cord... and the company has to be able to support international orders

You sure you are getting your conversion rates right? Evasham has never been known for being cheep and some of their specs are a little poor for the price IMO. You can find cheaper in britain let alone in the USA not even taking into account the shipping.

BTW Most parts should work. Most PSU's are dual voltage and it is just a matter of changing the setting and cord.

Hmm...well maybe I am getting mixed up with the conversion rate then? How much is 1000 pounds in US dollars?

i think it's something around 1600 US dollars (i'm not really sure though). I do know that a pound is worth more than a dollar though so a number in pounds is less than one in dollars

Go here for a handy conversion utility:
http://www.forumsoftware.com/databank.htm

This is what it said when I put in the numbers:
Live mid-market rates as of 2002.06.08 03:31:24 GMT.
1.00 USD
United States Dollars = 0.685213 GBP
United Kingdom Pounds
1 USD = 0.685213 GBP 1 GBP = 1.45940 USD

So for your 1000 GBP = $1459.40 USD

Ok, thanks. Well, I guess that means that Evesham is not quite the great deal that I thought it was. I was figuring 1 pound to be a little closer to 1 dollar.
