are abspc.com and newegg.com related?
does anyone know if this happens to be the case? check out both sites(pictures, descriptions, prices, etc). the reason i am interested is i am looking into getting a computer and i was looking at the reviews of the company on cnet.com and while the reviews seemed to be half and half someone mentioned they (abspc.com) owned newegg, obviously this would be a good thing. has anyone bought or know about them?, because the prices seem to be really good
to the person that just posted, my question is, are abspc and newegg the same company? because i have heard nothing about abspc but i am interested in buying from them

I'm not sure if you are asking for info about abspc or newegg ?
Have no idea about abspc but newegg has been a great supplier
for everything i've ordered in the last 18 months.

Yes they are, owned by the same parent company; according to some manufacturer reps we dealt with.

I just checked out the two sites. It's obviously the same company. I checked out their video card selection. For the first dozen or so video cards that both stocked, the price at ABSPC was exactly one dollar more per card than Newegg, with the shipping being the exact same price (and varying from card to card ($6 on one, $8 on another, $6.95 on yet another, but always the same on both sites for the same card)). Newegg had a larger selection, too. BUT, ABSPC builds systems, which Newegg doesn't. So if you want a prebuilt system from Newegg, go to ABSPC. If you are looking for parts, go to Newegg and save a buck.

Found another one! Nutrend.com is obviously another Newegg/ABSPC company; prices and selection appear to be exactly the same as ABSPC.

ok now since this is the case that they are owned by the same people, why is it that newegg has such a better reputation than abspc.com? check it out at bbb.com if you don't believe me

My guess is that newegg just sells parts, mainly to true tech-heads, which (support wise) is easier to do than complete systems, which might have a thousand things go wrong with them and are probably purchased by less techincally inclined people. Therefore, even though the level of service is the same, abspc customers may, on average, need more hand-holding than newegg customers, and, therefore, if the company is not quite up to the task of providing the additional support, that might detract from it's reputation. Just a guess.

NewEgg only sells parts...they do NOT give tech-advice or tech-support nor do they field pre-sales compatibility questions, either.
