Please Help w/buying wife system!

Currently I am running a screaming amd xp1800 w/win2k.
This machine moves on a cable connection.
I am what some would call a computer HOG.
My wife doesnt know it, but I am putting her together a nice comp.

So far I have:

80 gig maxtor 5400rpm
Case w/amd approved 330w p/s
cd drives and floppy drives

I am planning to put xp pro on this system.
The system will be used mostly for surfing and burning tracks (hence, the storage).
My wife is big on new tech but I was thinking maybe amd 1500xp.
I would appreciatte any suggestions.
Need motherboard, processor, & ram.
Have little $.

Try the combos at www.tcwo.com .. they have good prices and even if they are abit higher than others .. they ship anything for $6.95 ... hard to beat that.

You could also get a cheaper motherboard - like the ECS K7S5A which comes with both onboard lan and sound. that's only $55.

I couldn't find a athlon xp 1500 or 1600 retail so i just went with the 1700.

If you are local NYC, try the computer shows listed at www.tri-statefairs.com

I've purchased stuff from www.pc-beyond.com and www.essencompu.com from them at the shows and have been to the pc-beyond store. They seem to have pretty good prices even though you pay NYC tax if you need it fast enough.
