Want Digital Camera, what's good?
I've never owned a digital camera but my better half just mentioned today that she wanted one and with Mother's day coming up that would be a great gift. Remember, say it with pictures, unless it becomes evidence. Where can I find good reviews? Just as anybody here, I want the best product for the best price. I'd say I'm budgeting $300-$350, with accessories would be nice. I'm a digital newbie. Little help please. |

I LOVE my camera! FujiFilm FinePix 2600 Zoom Digital Camera. http://www.fujifilm.com/JSP/fuji/epa...oduct=43860737
Of course no software is needed with Win XP...just plug it in!
It was the digital camera point & shoot $200-$299 digital shoot-out winner!
$290 at Circuit City for me, but I've heard of cheaper places since I bought mine.
Good luck hunting!
Mike

Thanks, I'll look it up. Running XP Pro already. What accessories does it come with or what do you have to make it comfortable? |

Comes with:
-16mb SmartMedia Card (I upgraded, they're super cheap on NewEgg!)
-2 AA Ni-MH rechargeable batteries
-Battery Charger
-Handstrap
-USB Cable
-CD-ROM including driver (not needed on XP), FinePix Viewer (I don't use it, XP is great for that), Quicktime, VideoImpression
It's a super sweet camera that's powerful, yet so small! I print all of my pictures out at home now...picked up a 75-pack of Kodak high gloss photo paper and the pictures look great!
Small camera = small case = saving $
Hope this helps some!
Mike

| Canon Powershot A40 is an excellent choice in cameras. I own a Kodak 3400 but the Canon A40 would be my current choice of camera's below 300 bucks.
Newegg is a good place for accessories like camera case, larger CF card, batteries/charger, usb reader. Currently out of stock on this battery/charger kit , but that's about as good as those get.

I'll post this again in this thread. http://www.steves-digicams.com/
Very upfront reviews.
Definately a personal preference thing. I love my Kodak DX3900, but at times wish it had more of a zoom. But for the money it is a great camera. I've also heard very good things about Olympus. Camedia I believe.
Enjoy

Just received my camera yesterday. It only took 3 days! I'm just starting to play with it, but what a cool entry camera at entry level and nice price. Thanks to Doc's deals for this one. |
