Outdoors Best suggestions...

I need to purchase a heatsink for an AthlonXP 1800+ (probably an Alpha HSF). Also, probably a few rounded IDE's and a shim for mounting the HSF. Anyone here have any good suggestions where I could purchase these online for a good price? Thank you.

You could always check out newegg.com
They have very good prices and are quite reliable. Another place to look may be directron.com I have ordered there and never had any problems with service or speed. I would check to see if those exact products were there but this 56k is killing me . They are large comp stores so I would hope they have what you need. Best of luck.

Try HeatsinkFactory.com. They have great prices and excellent service. Forget about getting the shim though. It isn't needed.

newegg.com is good. Another place to check might be googlegear.com

Personally I wouldn't pay extra for rounded cables. You can round them yourself in minute or two.

Welcome!

You probably dont need the shim, which Alpha? the 8045?

There are so many choices that work well, you will mostlikely see peeps will voice their choice in furthur posts and confuse you completely :-)

(try the search feature within, it also works well)

Yes, the 8045. But I am wondering if anyone has heard of there being a problem with that HSF going onto an Epox 8KHA+ Motherboard. I heard that the Heatsink can come pretty close to running into a near-by capaciter. http://HeatsinkFactory.com looks pretty good, thank you Atomic Rooster, that is probably where I will make my buys, either that or newegg.

you could try www.pricewatch.com if you know what you're looking for, and of course check out www.resellerratings.com for reviews of the vendor
