Block EK "Gold Plated" - Another EK problem

Well folks, after several problems that EK is experiencing as "corrosion of nickel" and the block to "rampage extreme black Another EK problem - Rampage 3 Black Edition block Rampage-3-Black-Edition-block, "I come here to offer my terrible experience with the company.

Sorry if I'm not clear in few sentences. I not have dominion over the English language by total. I'm Brazilian.

Summary:

It all started when I performed the purchase of the block in-store Performance Pcs.com. When the block came into my hands, I realized i was with a horrible appearance. With some stains and scratches. Until then I thought it was normal. Only after hitting some photos and post on a forum very famous in Brazil (Fórum Adrenaline), all were scared at the way that the same was presented. So I decided to contact the Performance-pcs.com. I got in touch to know what procedure I should take and if any type of cleaning could be done on the material to keep it looking good. I was very well attended and after a few exchanges of email asking me to send product photos.

I sent some photos:

After sending photos, the staff said that would go to pass EK solve the problem, and asked me if the block came sealed. I said yes.

Soon I received an email from EK. All the conversation we had down:

EK Water Blocks para Customer, mim

Hi!

Let me check with our guys what could this mean on Monday.
Felipe, can you send photos without flash, some close-ups? How about the base of the block? Untouched? Also picture of the
If the block was all sealed we will of course replace it.

Best regards, Eddy

Thank you for your attention.

Felipe Lopes

Hello,
Follow the photos as requested.
From the size of the photos. I'll have to send in more emails. Limet 25MB per attachment.

Thanks.
Felipe Madson

I sent a total of 33 photos. The most important are these.

EK Response:

Hello Felipe,
Thank you for the pictures.
If I understood correctly you have only opened the block and checked for right jet plate?

My response:

Hello Eddy.

I just open the block to check the parts because I'm not with all the necessary parts for installation of my system.

After opening, I realized that it was with stains and scratches.

I thought it was normal. And I posted the photo in a forum that we use a lot here in Brazil (Fórum Adrenaline. html)much like the Xtreme System Forum . And I asked friends if they all received the block like mine.. Or if I had the bad luck. It was when I saw that all the block received in perfect condition, and that I had been "awarded".

Many told me to make a cleaning. But i did not know which product to use, I decided to contact the Performance-pcs.

How can repair the rear of the block, this with role of protection and all. I took the photo to look as it is in perfect condition. Only the front and in some parts of the side that is visible stains and scratches.

Thank you for your dedication.

Felipe Lopes

EK Response:

Hi Felipe,

Of course this is not normal, but d you think that you could have damaged the lacked surface when you disassemble the block and reassemble it.

And only that surface is damaged and this could be done if you put the block to a rough or uncleaned surface...

Because that kind of damaged block could not pass our quality check.

The block is still fully functional and as far as I could see from the pictures only the surface of the lack was damaged, and that is not effecting cooling perfoermance.

Best regards, Eddy

My response:

In fact, I did not tried assemble or disassemble the block, i only open it and noticed that it was the way you can see in the picture. I Not attempt to clean, much less put the material into a rough surface. I thought it might have been at the time of replacement of plate # 1, as described in the text is quoted "Extra jet plates will NOT be enclosed in the delivery any more (These will still be available to purchase separately). EK-Supreme HF easy mount will be equipped with jet plate # 1, Which has proven to be best performer". I wondered if it could have been scratched in the management of the company or store to equip the jet plate # 1.

And yes, I believe that the block is fully functional. The only thing that bothered me was the look of it. I have bought the best block for my pretensions, and especially, by beauty that has. But receiving the product as received, is not very nice, especially by now be sure that is not normal.

I also believe that kind of damaged block could not pass its quality check in the way he was. But mistakes happen, and unfortunately, the EK had some problems with corrosion in these last times, and the Rampage 3 Black Edition block.

But by the way my case, is an isolated incident, pure lack lucky...

If you have a product that I may be using to clean up, or until even polishing the material, I wonder what would be the correct way, and what to do and not damage the material.

Felipe Lopes

EK Response:

Hi Felipe,

We have some customers using our mistakes in recent past to blame us about some things, but about certain things we are confident.

And am confident such block could not get out of the EK.

The lacked surface is scratched and may be polished with car polish paste, but the bigger scratches may stay.

My response:

Hello Eddy,

Actually I'm not blaming the company for past mistakes. Much less the way the block came into my hands. I'm just trying to find out why they came to the same in my hands the way that you can see from the photos, and looking for ways to improve the look the same. Because the pictures give not of to get an exact picture of what is in personally. And at no time I ask for another block in place. Instead, I communicated the store to know what procedure to perform the cleaning... Or know what happened.

I do not know whose the error was, and unfortunately, if no one be responsible, the prejudice is all mine. Why do not I make a purchase just for function of piece. Also buy by warranty offers the company its customers and appearance.
And if I did not trust the company, I would never have made the purchase of the products. After learning of the same old problems they suffered, and that any large company may suffer.

EkSupreme HF High Flow "Gold Plated"
Ek-FCGTX 580
Ek-RAM Dominator - Corsair is Water Block - Nickel
Black EK Backplate - Black

"The lacked surface is scratched and may be polished with car polish paste, but the bigger scratches may stay".

Thanks for the tip. If works I'm happy.

Felipe Madson

And I'm sorry if I offended the company citing the mistakes of the past. Just did it to show that any one is subject to errors. I like being honest with my stuff. And I appreciate the attention that they are having me.

And this does not polish the piece does not lose color?

I bought it by the color of gold, and I'm afraid to leave the gold of same ....

Thank you.

Felipe Lopes

EK Response:

Hi Felipe,

No problem, I appreciate your honesty!

Just make sure you don’t get through the lack.

My response:

Hello Eddy,

I'm back from 4 places that could make thepolishing. I was informed by four that polishing may damage the product (loss of color). I opted not to do the same. And as I have no skills or tools, i haveto search off. For if the product stay worse than it, i'ii be upset. Would away have less abrupt they will not damage the block? Something lighter than polishing?

Sorry forthe inconvenience, but I have to turn to.

Thanks

EK Response:

Hi!

The polishing has to be surface.

If it is polished too much it may take off gold plating.

I have nothing else to suggest than polish, sorry.

Try polishing by hand for a start...?

My response:

Hello Edy,

Today I was doing exactly as you suggested, I spent polishing the folder, and came up with cotton to remove and polish... The result was what I expected.

What upset me most, was the fact have not put strength ... took some pictures for you to observe, and in my view it is really a problem. Well if I get any piece bathed and apply the force applied the same will not lose color as the block lost.

So much so that before making the polish, was apparent that the color was weak for a polishing or cleaning any other way I even told you.

When I noticed that the color was leaving, I stopped polishing the same time not to damage the rest. And even after polishing, the block has not changed at all. Only the part that came out the ink.

Now the block is just horrible...

Sorry for the outburst but I'm feeling aggrieved by something that I did not have any guilt.

Attached photos...

Felipe Lopes

I sent 15 more photos. Some major.

EK Response:

Hi!

I am sorry to see this.

You should have been much more careful.

Now the only chance is that you find a company that is gold plating and remove the lack and the plating, repolish the whole top and gold plate it again.

Or you can order a full nickel top and I can arrange you to make it gold plated:

EK-TOP FULL NICKEL - Supreme HF

My response:

I did not understand!

I should be more careful how? No force was placed on the product to polished. Even in the photos to see who has the product to polished on the piece. I did not finish polishing to avoid further damage.

Eddy Look, I know we learned from our mistakes. But this story My conscience is clear.

If you know the difficulty that we Brazilians have to make buy out there... The product is expensive. The shipping is expensive and run the risk of it getting lost, and we are always taxed and the product comes out twice the value. But unfortunately we have no parts watercooler options here. And we have to stay in your hands ... That is, if you say that the mistake is mine, even though I was right. How do I prove it? I'm totally sad about the situation.

What amazes, is that warned that the bloc would not support a polishing. And was visible ... and look what happened.

I'm sorry but I do not think proper to make the purchase of this piece. I will use this damaged block, while I can not buy another.

EK Response:

Hi!

The new top was just a proposal.

I appreciate every customer and I am sorry for your inconveniences.

One proposal to purchase?

Felipe Lopes

EK Response:

Yes I only proposed if you want to have new top that I can arrange you one gold plated.

You can use this one without a problem.

My response:

Unfortunately I can not make the purchase. I've spent a lot of money in the system I'm building. And I still have orders to arrive. And surely I will be taxed. Pay taxes here 60% of the value of the parts + shipping. + 18% icms.

Before I had not done polishing the block .. I'd be less disappointed ...

I have had no response after this email ...

I need hardly say the size of indignation ... And the lack of respect ...

As a friend of mine said:

"C'mon, EK, what's the problem with you guys?

Did you lost your focus?

Just lost another customer. "
