[Resolved] One very unhappy customer of Memory Express, never trust their promisses
So here is my story...
On May 3, 2011, I tried to submit a backorder of the Asus EEE Pad Transformer on their website but it didn\'t let me to, so I called the Richmond, B.C. location and a dude answered my call, so I told him that I am interested in making a purchase of the Asus Transformer, and he told me that they have shipment within the couple weeks and he can take my name and phone number, when they get the shipment, he will put one on hold under my name and will call me to pick it up. So I gladly gave him the phone number and my name.

I was talking to my colleague and suggesting him the pad, so I showed him the website and found out that the status in Richmond says \"Limited Quantity\". So I quickly called them to confirm they have one on hold under my name and I was ready to rush there to pick it up. The answer I got was \"NO, you did not make the full deposit\". WHAT!! No one mentioned anything about deposit before. So I was transferred a few times and end up the guy named Leo told me that I need to get down to the store and pay for the deposit and I will get one 2 weeks later when their next shipment arrives.

I walked into the store, talked to Leo, and he gave me another story. I asked, if I\'m paying the full deposit now, am I holding my position so I\'m the head of the queue and I can get one for the next shipment. The answer I got was \"NO, I cannot guaranty\". WTF!! I asked \"If you told me on May 3 to make a deposit, I would be able to pick up one today?\" He responded \"Yes, I am sorry.\" Then he told me, at the beginning, they took names and phone numbers to hold the item, but later they found out that they are not getting enough stock so they later require a deposit. So why don\'t they call me and tell me to make a deposit!!??
After 10 minutes arguing, all he can offer was I make the full deposit, and god knows when I will get the tablet, and in my next visit, he will search the internet to make sure they have lowest price or they will beat it by 5%! Great deal!! They are already offering price match, and to be honest, how long does it take you to look through all the competitors website for the lowest price?? You think I am stupid?
So I left the store without paying anything and told them I don\'t want it any more and they had an unhappy customer going to their competitor to reserve one.
A few minutes later, Leo called me and asked me if I would purchase the tablet if they have someone gave up. I said yes, if you can get me one.

No calls from Leo yet, I mean at least you get to tell me yes I have or no you are screwed, so I can get my ass to their competitor and reserve one, so I walked into the store and his respond was \"Sorry I called our customers and no one wants to give up their order\". OMG, if you don\'t think that there is a chance you can get me a tablet tonight, DO NOT OFFER it after I left the store.
After all, their customer service is BS and whatever their staff told you was a lie. Different story each time even you talk to the same person.
Update:
I recommend sending an email through contact us on their website. From my experience, they respond my email the next morning.
