New merchant concerned about this message

I recently registered my (tiny) online store with ResellerRatings to get reviews. Today I was about to email my customers to ask them to write a review when I noticed a problem.

This is the page I understand I should send my customers to: Diamond Hill Dolls - diamondhilldolls.com - Reviews, Ratings and Prices at ResellerRatings

On this page there is a prominent red message saying "Diamond Hill Dolls currently does NOT actively participate at ResellerRatings to monitor feedback and resolve your issues."

This message will not inspire confidence at all. I cannot send my customers to a page with this message.

I am wondering why this message is there and how do I get rid of it?

Many thanks, Clare

ADDED: I followed the link for the merchant below the message but there is no apparent explanation.

Welcome to RR.

See Store Ratings & Reviews - ResellerRatings.com - Merchant Member Features for details on 'Merchant Member' accounts.

Thanks

Hello nomaixim

Thanks for your response. Would you please confirm my understanding of your meaning:

Your link is to an invitation to enroll as a paying merchant. Do you mean this message remains on my review page until I become a paying merchant?

Many thanks, Clare

Yes, there is a fee to be a active 'Merchant Member'.

There is a 30-day free trial, I'm afraid that the 'Free Starter' package in no longer available (as of 20DEC2010). See; Free Starter Policy Redux | ResellerRatings.com for more information.

ClareDHD, just a word from a completely non-affiliated person. I rate stores on this site, as well as read ratings. I've never paid any attention to the "does not actively participate" message. I wouldn't worry about directing your customers to the site because of that. JMO, of course.

Nomaxim - Thanks for the clarification. Unfortunately my business is simply too small to afford the fee.

Rod Flash - Thanks very much for your advice. I am completely new to reviews and will bear your experienced words in mind. However, I cannot but think that my customers who are not familiar with ResellerRatings will balk at such an prominent and ambiguous message. It almost seems to say "Diamond Hill Dolls does not really care about your review". Which I very much do!

Many thanks, Clare

Wishing you the best, Clare

What really matters are your reviews and not a simply disclaimer...

I wouldn't be concerned as a customer/reader. One idea is just to include in your invoice or thank you email that you would appreciate their time if they would review at the link attached. That would mean more to me than a generic disclaimer that follows.

Clare, welcome to ResellerRatings.

I am going to forward your information to our lead merchant relations representative so she can provide you with additional details about the ResellerRatings process and the merchant member program.
