Do you haggle?

That is the question..

I got into a discussion with a friend a bit ago about haggling the sales folks about prices...

I myself never do.. I'm too impatient :/
I just wanna buy the stupid thing LOL

He says its a barrel of fun!! I just don't get it

What about you? I'm curious if there are more people like him that enjoy it.. or more like me.. just put in it in the cart lol

People say you can bargain for anything anywhere you go but have never really seen this in a place like Wal Mart

I can just see it now
"Hey ... umm so how much can I get this lawn chair for?"
"FIVE BUCKS!!, how about 4.50?" LOL

no thanks

If you really want to haggle, a good place to buy is at the computer shows...

It was buried, I remembered it 'cause I posted on it. More fuel to bargain with. Tips are nice!

Ive had slight luck asking for a discount w/single items (retail) but when purchasing in bulk ive been successful---I myself would be reluctant to budge on a price ive set for used items---I sell things so cheap people call me from a state away...I use http://www.recycler.com
The Recycler is a weekly ad paper you buy for $1.50 here in SoCal and works GREAT to sell items locally and I usually never have to resort to an online sale...
BUT a great spot to "haggle"...

When at computer shows I don't haggle, let my dad do that for me. I can't seem to haggle but can debate well with adults...

at first glance in the current thread box at the top i thought my poll from yesteryear was raised from the dead. jerrygarcia mentioned it. i usually dont haggle retailers except to throw something in such as a cheap mouse or case fan, asked for a case fan got a cheap mouse.

For brand new boxed items from a retailer, no, I won't haggle. But for displays, scratch and dent, or returned items I definitely will. I got an opened Epson Color 740 a couple years ago for $70 that way.

I've never been to a computer show, but if they're anything like gun and knife shows, I'd definitely be doing some haggling! I like doing business that way.

Some folks take it to far, though. They'll get mad if they don't get exactly want they want for next to nothing. If you can't get what you want for the price you want to pay, then move along and buy it later!
