NewEgg False Advertising

They have the SONY Playstation 3 Console 250 GB Black listed for $349.98. I was notified that it was available. When I tried to add to "My Cart" I received a message saying:A problem occurred during viewing shopping cart, Sorry, this gift item is part of a promotional special and cannot be manually added to your cart. If you'd like to receive the gift item, please add all required products to your shopping cart. On this page it says Combo Price: $496.95. No longer a bargin. I have been doing business with NewEgg for 5 years after getting screwed by CDW. I spend about $10,000 a year there. I went into a chat session with a rep. and was told that there must have been a mistake that you must buy the bundle. So I am needles to say dissapointed with NewEgg and am looking for a new vendor.

I've seen something similar...The inventory count goes from ZERO to any number and their automated computer system sends a note to people like yourself that are waiting on the item.

Unfortuantly the system can't have other specs added like "only send the notifications if certain conditions are met."

What is a typical price for the Playstation from other places?

Wow. If this is true, then does NewEgg did that? Or it is just some kind of an error?

$349 is the SRP of the 250 GB PS3. You're seeing the higher prices because those systems are in high demand, and supply is extremely limited. Amazon has the 120 GB slim model in stock for $299.99 with free shipping. You can buy a 320 GB or larger hard drive for $50-75, and install it yourself without voiding the warranty.

let's all face facts... technology is only as good as the programmer. glitches happen - mistakes get made - I've been dealing with NewEgg for 7 years and they have allways made right any wrongs, you just have to let them know. Once you know you NewEgg.

I can't imagine Newegg screwing anyone. I ,too, am a long time customer -- my first order was June of 2001 and I have had wonderful luck with them.

It's very possible that a phone call to them would solve any problems. If it doesn't speak to someone higher up the ladder.

Hello

I have been using NewEgg for many years and have always found them good to work with. Must be glitch.

I would not give up a great working relationship of several years over 1 glitch. Now if it was like some other companies, we can name several, that have screwed us several times, that is a different story.

NewEgg is one of the best. Good prices, quick shipping, clearly written policies and a great customer service team.

Not what they once were...

I've shopped with Newegg off and on for years... but they have definitely gone down hill lately. I have an order that was shipped from their City of Industry, CA warehouse on 4/21 at 7pm PST via FedEx 3-day shipping (which, according to Newegg, says delivery within 3 business days). The order arrived in a FedEx sort facility in Las Vegas, NV (60 miles away from my home) on 4/22 at 8am PST with instructions from Newegg not to attempt delivery until 4/26.

Now of course, delivery on 4/26 is within the aft-mentioned 3 business day window... but thanks to the shipping instructions from Newegg, FedEx won't make any delivery attempts until 4/26, even though it could be on a delivery truck on 4/23 and in my hands sometime that afternoon.

Calling Newegg resulted in what basically boiled down to a "well that's the shipping method you selected... if you wanted 2-day delivery you should have paid for 2-day delivery" conversation with a customer service representative.

To say I am disgusted would be an understatement. Whatever happened to the super-fast shipping and top-notch customer service Newegg was once known for? I mean really... shipping the order with instructions to FedEx stating not to attempt delivery until the 3rd business day? That is disgusting and uncalled for.
