Double Billed by Diamond Shark.com

I recently placed an order with DiamondShark.com. The merchandise was delivered quickly and in good order, but when I reviewed my Visa card transactions I found I was double billed for the one item. I contacted DiamondShark assuming they would resolve the matter by simply refunding the duplicate billing to my Visa account. No such luck. According to their customer service representative their "system" does not double bill. Even after furnishing the Visa transaction codes and phone numbers of my bank's Visa representative, they refused to resolve the problem. Their deals may be a bargain, but not at twice the price. If you do business with this merchant, just hope their "system" does not decide to screw you..!

Welcome to RR.

The ratings page here at RR gives them a 9.51/10 (lifetime) and a 8.58/10 (six-month) with 112 reviews since 24JUL2008. That does imply almost a one point drop in the last six-months.

I see you have submitted a review, I take it the company has not attempted to contact you to resolve this issue? (They are a merchant member here at RR).

I have been unable to locate a BBB report for them. Per the WhoIs info,

You can file a complaint with the BBB at Consumer Compaints and Reviews - U.S. BBB. The complaint should take 30-35 days to resolve. I would also suggest contacting your financial institution about the matter.

Wow. That is such a bad experience Shadracker. I also experienced being double billed but not on an online purchase. Thanks for the heads up anyway.

What happens when you take the items listed on the packing sheet and multipy that by the per piece price? Does the total come out like it should?

Or does the packing sheet list an item two many times?

that's a really good point! check everything and make sure what exactly and how they billed it. i would also call and tell them exactly what happened if you cant get a hold of them then i would contact BBB. and file a report. but like the administrator said before i hope they contact you due to the fact that the participate. it helps with damage control in the long run especially if its a legitimate business.

i would ask to speak to a supervisor if you can. to me this is unacceptable to down right deny that a double billing could occur! im very sure its possible i've had it happen to me in the simplest of circumstances from reputable companies. if they arent willing to work with you, take a deep breath and do as everyone has instructed. this could either be bad customer service or shady folks.. either way keep positive!

If this was a Paypal transaction and you're referring to your Paypal history, note that Paypal enters separate line items for authorizations and charges. So, one transaction could appear as two separate line items for the same amount, even though you were only charged once.

Same with credit cards. Some cards (especially debit cards where transactions appear in your checking account statement) separately list authorizations (where funds are confirmed) and charges (where funds are debited).

So, make sure that's not the case.
