joes HP printer is infamous around these parts
inkproducts.com American made printer ink, That really works! No Chinese crap ink!

Well if you are sick and tired of paying through the DAM nose for new HP ink cartridges or having to take your HP ink cartridge to be refilled all the time or, you are just like me and get tired of doing the refilling yourself at home with all the assorted time and mess of home refills then do yourself a HUGE favor and check out these guys at Inkproducts.com
I had to buy a new printer and upgrade to one with more features; copy, scan, fax etc. My HP Deskjet 4500 series did wonderful work on text and photos. In less than one year I printed 4608 pages or photos with that HP unit. That HP unit was a cheap-o WallMart special some where between 50 and 100 dollars in the summer of 2008. And I am pretty sure it was never designed to do that much printing! I became very good at refiling both the black & color cartridges at home with a 75% non spill rate and a 25% and a
"OH crap INK is everywhere and on everything and staining my hands" rate.
Doing this saved 100's and 100's of dollars by refilling ink at home with out a doubt! I spent 80? bucks total for the raw ink used on that old unit verses having to buy 25+ new HP or generic cartridges, you do the math!
And the first 4000 prints were from refilling the ORIGINAL CARTRIDGE THAT CAME WITH THE PRINTER FROM WHEN IT WAS NEW. So I only had to buy 2 additional HP cartridges by the end of using that printer.
(A Software update did'nt allow use of my 18 month old HP Deskjet any
more so I had to send my printer off to the closet & get a replacement fast!)
I went out and bought the new 8500 HP and was real unhappy with it from day one. I was told it had large capacity ink cartridges and would print over 1000 prints per cartridge. I felt if that 1000+ printed pages per cartridge was true I would spend more on HP ink than I did on my last HP unit but;
if the 1000+ number was correct, it was a fair trade off to avoid all the refilling issues and time I spent on my old HP. My ink costs might double or maybe triple with this new 8500 unit but that would be the worst of it and the convenience factor might be worth the extra money and saved time.
Well, right away I saw the ink level lowering at a rate that told me this cartridge was NEVER gonna go for 1,000 pages for sure! Text documents from it were usually ok but pictures were coming out with many clear mistakes. These mistakes were areas where the scanning cartridge was dragging itself across the photo print itself and scraping off thin 1 millimeter wide parallel lines across a photo and leaving behind the bare white photo paper underneath the picture.

{After having to fill in those white lies across science pictures with a Black SHARPY Felt tip marker I felt like;

(aka, The scene in the movie "SILKWOOD" "Starring Susan Saranden and Cher" Where the evil nuclear plant boss alters the BAD Contaminated Plutonium X-ray films by covering up the flaws on the with a black SHARPY felt tip marker to make the crap grade plutonium X-rays, NOW, look like their plutonium was safe to use.)

Due to having to do this it was now time to send this unit back to the store.}

I know New machines can have issues and I understand that so I just brought the new HP 8500 back to OfficeMax and showed the store clerk the ruined pictures and he agreed the machine was defective right out of the box and sent it back to HP. And he did this after their 2 week return period.
This type of failure rate thing happens all the time and was not a huge issue to me.I understand all modern manufacturing has specific failure rates of new equipment right out of the box. I do not feel it was any indication of HP quality at all; some times poop just happens in life.
I still wanted to stay with HP due to all the over all quality printing I have done with their machines historically (over 20 years worth) and since OfficeMax did the right thing by me instead of saying it was past their 2 week rule, SO, I knew I'd buy some other printer from them.
I was pretty frustrated and not sure which way to go by now though.
I had been looking for ink to refill new HP printers and noticed the generic inks were gone or disappearing from basically all my local store shelves; Office Depoe, Office max, Target, WallMart, Staples etc... I found some at Wallgreens but it was a crap brand that I used before and hated it.
So out of total frustration and a refusal to pay HUNDREDS of dollars a year for HP inks, (Which - by the way, actually now cost more per once than GOLD does! I have been told this more than once by a retailer!) I went on line looking for bulk ink and stumbled onto the Inkproducts.com website.
Their site is not the slickest site you will ever find but I noticed two things about their site real fast!
They said there sold only 100% American made ink and they were a local family owned business for over a decade. I was intrigued.
Most web based stores are just fronts for crap out of China with NO quality control or even correct information regarding their or your product and have worthless customer support, unless you speak certain random foreign languages.
Inkproducts.com is different.
They are an AMERICAN company doing business in AMERICA and only sell printer INK made here in the U.S. and their inks are under strict quality controls...
I spoke to Tom there for a VERY, VERY LONG TIME. I went over my history and problems. Long story short... He said their printer rating page showed a HP printer to be a really great machine and they had an continuous INK refill system designed just for that machine. Their ink system cost under 85$ and should go over a year or so at my rate of printing with their same quality of ink BUT I would never have to replace a cartridge or do a refill again once I installed this system! At first I was a little doubtful but after I
talked to him for a VERY, VERY LONG TIME! I finally decided he was probably telling me the truth and I decided to buy both the HP Premium printer he recommend from Office Max, and a week later I bought the Inkproducts.com ink system as well.
I am EXTREMELY happy with both choices I made!
I love this printer! I print Pictures cheaply and of wonderful grade everyday and the text documents are right on! I now know I have very affordable HIGH QUALITY INK anytime I need it and I never have to do anything again except pour some ink into the corresponding colored clear plastic container that sits next to my printer! Super easy and fast when that time finally comes. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this system and their company for other printer ink applications to many people on a regular basis now.
Their customer support is first rate and similar to what USED to be the standard 20 years ago in this country!
All you need to do is follow the install direction EXACTLY! If you have questions about it call them and they will help. I installed mine in under an hour.
