Cyberpower Sales? Terrible!
While I actually didn't get to purchase the PC, I was disappointed CyberPower canceled my order number, due to their reason that the internet made an error. I ordered the PC @ over $3100 and they said the internet made a pricing error, which really means their website made the error. After thinking about this further, they should have honored the price since all I did was select the items I wanted with no control on how the system tallies the line item pricing. I promptly got an email the next day stating this reason, which was "internet error". That's fine, though their caveat at the bottom of their web page really is vague covering this area, I really wanted this PC.
Anyway, I called and thought I would still get the PC and had a few questions to ask about certain items. They were not too keen to understanding RAM speed and that it had to be factory set for certain MOBOs and then be preset before shipping to use faster RAM (The MOBOs in question automatically default any RAM faster than 1333mhz to this same speed, unless you have the voltage in the BIOS changed to run the faster ordered RAM, I wanted the 1600Mhz). They kept saying I would void the warranty if I overclocked the RAM, which I didn't ask if I could do, I ask if they set it up as the RAM offered is faster than the MOBO default setting is.
After getting that straight, they still didn't make it clear that it would be set up that way, only that they understand that. A few days later after looking over the configurations again, I asked about changing the tower in a certain configuration, the rep said no, they don't do that as it is their policy (no where to be found), that I have to build a custom rig by choosing a setup that offers different towers. I cannot fit anything over 22" where my PC will reside. I thought his statement was odd considering the tower I could use (Cooler Master RAF 922) would work fine and the fact that I was able to choose any other part for that particular setup outside of the tower???. He also said they don't carry Cooler Master brands. So I went to a custom setup where I could choose from various towers, and behold, 4 Cooler Master brands were listed?
After I called back, I felt like I was not being treated like a potential customer after telling (this is another rep) about the tower incident, he was confused why the other rep made his claim. After telling this second rep I wanted what would be about a $4000 rig and asked if they wanted to make a sale; he was totally indifferent. I then asked if the Tower I chose would hold the components I wanted with this unit, and he said they wouldn't know until they begin to build it. I thought, "Huh, are these people not PC builders?" That would mean my order could go through, possibly be delayed, getting it too late and having to lose possible funds sending it back if it weren't right or canceling the order. So I just decided to not purchase anything from them as I felt I would be treated equally bad if I had an issue with a purchase.
Cyberpower, if you really want to make money and customers happy, treat them as you would want to be treated when you are the customer. Have your reps have a decent knowledge base in what you offer to sell. I was ready (as proven by submitting an order that was turned away) to purchase this very high end gaming rig, only to be treated with a quasi-like scorn for asking for changes.
