Is certifiedwatchstore.com legit? Any experiences?

Hi all, I'm looking at purchasing a watch and this site has it at a 20% discount from the retail price

Michael Kors MK5162 Ceramic Chronograph Ladies Watch - Black Dial Black Ceramic Case Quartz Movement

that is the link to the watch on their site. It seems ok at first glance, but I can't find many reviews about them online anywhere so I'm a bit suspicious. Does anyone have any experience with this site? Advice?

thanks, Joe

Certified Watch Store

I don't know if it's legit or not. I have read a dozen or so reviews but they are all recent and posted to reseller after your original post. This looks fishy to me.

I was looking for a Citizen Men's Eco-Drive Skyhawk A-T Titanium Watch #JY0010-50E. Most of the established companies list it for $637.50 which I suspect is a Citizen price point. This company lists it at $425.00. I fell for this type thing once when I tried to buy a video camera from an NYC internet company. The old bait and switch and rude idiot to deal with when I didnt bite.

I did find the following on the Ripoff Report...

Ripoff Report: Certified Watch Store Rip Off - Caveat Emptor Brooklyn New York

"The Certified Watch Store is a certified RIP OFF. Beware!!!! Over a month ago I ordered a watch. I recieved an email saying it was delayed. 5 calls later and the New York run-around, I had to cancel the order. The head of Customer No Service is Eric. After calling and asking to speak to a supervisor, we were given the run around and then Eric hung up on me. Sadly, I was told each time “Oh, we just got a shipment in and your watch will be sent out.” If you are looking for a bad customer experience and want to get ripped off in a New York minute, then be sure to order from The Certified Watch Store."

This may be unfair but I am extremely uncomfortable with this store.

New and in box

Update
After further review, It has been confirmed that their watches are in fact Brand New and in box and my situation is not usual for certified watch store. It was a just a misunderstanding. Certifiedwatchstore.com gladly refunded the full amount and the matter is now 100% resolved. I am happy with the outcome and are glad it turned out the way it did. Certifiedwatchstore.com does not sell refurbished watches.

If you have bought from this merchant you can leave a review at resellerratings.com/store/Certified_Watch_Store.

Note that all reviews must be in accordance with the resellerratings.com/terms.pl. Notably the 15 points listed.

Here's my experience with this vendor. I'd advise you to stay away. I placed an order for a watch (it was to be a gift) on Nov 22. In the "comments" box, I entered the following: "Please call me at xxx-xxx-xxxx if the order will not ship out within 3-5 business days. This order is time-sensitive. Thank you." Needless to say, I did not hear from the company within any reasonable time period. No phone call, no email, no communication of any kind. I checked the order status online a few times, and eat time it said that my order was being processed. I assumed that I should be receiving my order within a reasonable time. Finally, not having received my order, I called and reached customer service on Dec 8 to check on the status of my order. Only then was I informed that not only is the item that I ordered (and Omega watch) was not in stock, but that I would never be receiving it. The customer service rep informed that me that the company was supposed to send me an email to that effect today. It was obvious to me that unless I had taken the initiative and called the company today myself, NO such email would have been forthcoming. The customer service rep did apologize on the phone, but what good is his apology when the company has wasted over a month of my time? Since the day that I placed my order, and even at the moment that I write this review, the company's website lists the product as "SPECIAL ORDER-Will Ship in 3-5 Days" -- basically it is listed as being in stock. Thanks to this vendor, the gift that is highly time-sensitive, will not be delivered on time.

We apologize about this inconvenience. We did our best to allocate the product for you since this was a special order and had to be ordered from one of our vendors. Further more one of our support team members was supposed to contact you on the day the order was canceled to let you know about the status of the order, and we do apologize about that. We did everything in our power to allocate the product for you. Please let us know if there's any other model you might be interested in so we can lookup availability and offer you a discount for the inconvenience.

Thank you

Reseller Ratings have their techniques to verify and confirm that every review is 100% legit, you may contact them directly and see that every customer must provide a date, order number, and a valid email address which they verify before posting any feedback for other shoppers to see. We are not here to cheat or scheme anyone. Our products are brand new and in box. We are rated 5 star by google shopping and by Amazon for a reason.

Regards,
Management
