Comcast's new strategy

Seems Comcast has a new strategy to deal with competitors - disconnect their service to customers!
Comcastic: Comcast Contractors Caught Disconnecting Competitor's Service Then Peddling Wares

I personally found this amusing since I recently discontinued service from Comcast after several lengthy interruptions in service caused by their incompetent servicemen disconnecting my service every time they did any kind of work on the lines.Guess they couldn't get it straight that they were supposed to be disconnecting the competition!

Even though Comcast is evil as most large service companies are; many of their serviceman are contracted.

These people are trying to make a buck in a horrible economy. The same way as people stealing heavy construction equipment and copper wire.

Constantly causing the customers problems with poor service is no way to make a buck. These contractors are going to find themselves out of a job when Comcast has no work for them due to the customers they loose who are tired of repeatedly having their service disrupted. My neighborhood used to be almost exclusively Comcast territory, now all you see is house after house with DirectTV dishes.

Michael

I am no fan of Con-cast, however, from some reason my Internet speed is now running at twice the previous rate...

As recorded by Speedtest.net, before I had D/L 5600 kbts and U/L 11oo kbts...Now the speed has been averaging about 13,000 kbts D/L and 6,000 kbts U/L........

From a practical sense, I am linking and turning pages at twice the previous speed...

Their latest ads do not even mention 1.5 mbts service...

BTW, their customer service still sucks!

Sorry for going off topic, Michael....

I'd love to have the speeds that cable internet can give you,but the idea of loosing my net connection for days at a time every month the way I did with television service is too much to bear.I'll just have to make due with DSL until Verizon gets the lead out and makes FiOS available in my area.
