Complaint against AccessoryCircuit.com 08/09/10

I purchased a Sony VCL-HG0872X Wide conversion lens. The cost is $320.00 less shipping. I paid online so they have my money. But yesterday morning they called me and told me it was back ordered 4 weeks and that they have a better lens they'll replace instead. They explained how much better the lens was compared to the sond lens I purchased.

I did some search on the conversion lens they were sending me and discovered it was not a lens of equal value to the cost I paid for the sony VCL-HG0872X. In fact it was a Bowers VLB-572 wide lens being sold at A1-photo.com for a retail cost of $99.00 on line. They were willing to cheat me out of $200.00.

When I called to cancel and request that my money be returned to my account, they even yelled at me trying to convince me that I should continue with the purchase. Then they even promised to have the Sony lens I ordered delivered to me within 7 to 10 days.

I feel that accessorycircuit.com is a dishonest company. Now I am waiting to see if they credit my account with $337.99 w/shipping. They told me it could take up to seven working days. Thats funny, they got my money immediately, but now I have to wait for my money to be returned.

Stay away from those people.

Tom

AccesoryCircut.com Bait & Switch Scam....Scumbags!

Have you ever heard the expression "if it seems to good to be true...." I was in the market for a flash for my Canon camera
, so I started with a generic search on a specific Canon flash, and through this link I found a nice price point and it indicates "IN STOCK", Canon 430EX Speedlite E-TTL II Shoe-Mount Flash 0298B002 Flash for Canon Digital Cameras AccessoryCircut.com

I called them prior to placing the order to ensure it was in stock and received confirmation that it was indeed in stock. I placed the order through their web site
and received confirmation on the order. A few hours later.......a voice message asking me to call them as there was an issue with the order. "The Canon flash you want is on back order for 4-6 weeks, may I ask what you are connecting this to?" BAIT & SWITCH BEGINS...... "Well, we have a Sigma Flash that is an upgrade to the Canon & in stock and it has a retail price of..........." This was 110% pre-arranged and there is and never was any intention on selling the Canon flash at the price listed. The Sigma flash is also misrepresented from what they have listed from a list price perspective and their price point is somewhat competitive but I could do better from several other creditably internet companies. I called back to cancel and got to another Rep., and he had the same BS and then offered me the Sigma at the same cost, and then offered it a 10 bucks less..... WTF!! This company is a pack of liars and thieves with well rehearsed unethical and illegal tactics. Buyer Beware!!!!

I also called Canon and they confirmed that AccesoryCircut.com is not an authorized Canon partner and should not even be listing their products.

If they do not credit your account Please contact your credit card company, or bank, and notify them of this. Also the Better Business Bureau at BBB.org Fill out the information accurately and that will make a complaint recorded. make sure you use AccessoryCircut.com as the i next to the u is missing (didnt notice that initially until after i canceled my order) You can also file a complaint with NY Attorney General. Locate Brooklyn's headquarters.. when i did it, Andrew Cuomo was in charge. Also i would suggest writing all that happened to you in the complaint form if you need help i can locate them on the web for you. let me know

cydewaze is infamous around these parts
I'm also waiting for an order to be filled by these guys, though at least it's for a small item that doesn't cost much.

I had the same experience as most people here.

- Order product "A"
- Get a call that product "A" is not in stock and won't be for X weeks.
- Merchant offers me product "B" (which is usually a cheap, off-brand alternate to "A") for the same price, or even slightly less (but still more than you can find it for elsewhere).

And you can tell they've been doing this for a long, long time, as they had a comeback for every reason I had for still wanting product "A", including:

- Product "B" is somehow better than "A".
- Product "A" is actually made by the same people who make "A".
- Product "B" has features that "A" does not have.

The merchant seemed to get more and more irate when I still insisted on product "A", even after all of the above points.

I have a feeling that what's happening is that these sites only stock certain product brands (Sigma, Vivitar, etc) and not the major brands (Canon, Nikon, etc). Unfortunately for them, most people look for major brands, so in order to lure customers, they advertise the major brands that they don't stock, then use that bait to get people to buy what they do stock. If the people insist on the original item, maybe they reluctantly fill the order at a loss, but that loss is more than made up for by all the customers who take the bait.

Just a theory. Anyway, I have all the time in the world, so we'll see if I ever get my product "A".

Accessory Circut Scam

I received a Sigma camera flash for Christmas. I had asked for the Canon flash recommended by my camera manufacturer. My dad ordered the Canon from accessorycircut(.) com as it offered a low price. He received a phone call the next day and was told the flash was on back-order for 3-5 weeks. The salesman told my dad that he had a Sigma flash of superior quality for about the same price (actually $80 more). My dad ordered the Sigma instead. I received the gift on Dec. 27 and immediately called Canon to check the Sigma flash's compatibility. Canon could not guarantee that the falsh would work. I decided to return the Sigma and order the Canon. I phoned accessorycircut and spoke with "Robert." I explained the situation. He said that he was a professional photographer and knew flashes very well, assuring me the Sigma was a better flash than the Canon. He asked me if I had tried the Sigma with my camera. I hadn't as I was out of town visiting my family and my camera was home in Colorado. He said to go home, try the Sigma and if I didn't like it, I could return it. Not quite satisfied, I continued to check online and all the reviews noted compatibility issues with the Sigma and my camera. Thus, I emailed accessorycircut and asked for a return authorization for the Sigma. I was instructed to call "Steve." I called the number and “Robert” again answered the phone. I asked for "Steve." This time he identified himself as “Steve,” but it was obviously the same person I had spoken with before. He again tried to talk me out of returning the Sigma, but I wanted the Canon. He said to re-order the Canon through the website. I asked for a return authorization for the Sigma flash. He told me to just write down the order number for the Sigma and send it back with the flash. He then again tried to talk me into keeping the Sigma. Finally, he said I could hold onto the Sigma, go home, and try it with my camera and when the Canon flash came, if I liked it better, I could keep the Sigma or return it and keep the Canon. He was insistent and I reluctantly agreed. After 5 weeks, I had not received the Canon flash. I emailed customer service and was again told to call "Steve." He said the item was still on back order, 3 more weeks! Suspicious, I began to check the company out online. Lots of complaints! I called back and canceled the Canon order. I said I would be returning the Sigma as well. He asked for the order number, which I gave him. He said the Sigma was purchased too long ago and wouldn't be refunded. I reminded him of what I had been told previously. He replied that the manager is not here. Angry, I said I was returning the Sigma and wanted my money back. He said, "Go ahead and send it. No one's gonna give you your money back." At that point I hung up. I now realize how foolish I was to continue to do business with this company. I filled out a report with the BBB today. Aside from this, I don't know what recourse I have besides hiring a lawyer.

Welcome Mr Elder

I am sorry you are also suffering at the hands of AC....

It is appear by all of these claims (on back order) that the company can not manage its inventory or is simply not telling the truth and using the good old B&S...

Forget about hiring an attorney, but rather file a direct complaint with the NY AG's office..

The more complaints and charges against this company, the more the likelihood they will be shut down...

NYC based companies have a very high scam rate, especially when offering the lowest price...

If ordering from this area, it is incumbent upon consumers to check any and all references...

All Internet orders should be sent with a fill or kill date...
